so, clarkson has to be considered the best value contract thus far, right? i mean, he's barely making more than austin rivers.
Without a doubt he's one of the best values. Al Horford- 4/113 with an opt out on the 3rd season is good. Jeremy Lin- 3/36 is really solid. Cole Aldrich- 3/22 million is solid for a backup Center. Jeff Green- 1/15 isn't bad at all. Horrible, horrible contracts: Conley- 5/153 Howard- 3/70.5 Anderson- 4/80 Dellevedova- 4/38 Fournier- 5/85 Moore- 4/34 Dudley- 3/30 Bayless- 3/27 Rivers- 3/35 W. Johnson- 3/18 Hill- 4/52 Leuer- 4/42 Mozgov- 65
9 million is the new 3 million. delly, dwight powell, bayless, moore, i'm sure aaron brooks is next there.
Gsw signed pachulia for 2.9 mil, thats realy good pick up...probably pachulia could made more money but it is hard to reject gs now
really like zaza, but i think he's got some back issues that will limit him both in terms of games and minutes. they're going to need to platoon there with vets, i'm guessing.
Gsw got richer, they signed david west one year for 1.5 mil, still wi rather play him 10 min than varejao.
I don't get it either. I don't think SA can compete with GS, especially with Duncan retiring and Ginobili + Parker also not that good anymore. Leonard and Aldridge are great but not enough.
duncan and diaw for gasol...wash at best. but SA has a lot of continuity outside of that, so they'll stack up wins again in the regular season. i think they don't have a go-to playoff scorer, though. aldridge tried his hand at it, but okc essentially dared him to iso his way to 50 or 60 points at the expense of SA's ball movement and open threes. it's an odd conundrum for teams that play their way. gs actually ran into the same problem once curry hurt his knee--what do you do when your juggernaut offense is based on precision and movement, and the opponents just throw a wrench (illegal, but clearly supported by the league) into it? in the regular season, curry high screens and isos could generate points.
Miami Heat, by most minutes played from 2015-16 season: Deng - to LA Dragic - returns Wade - to CHI Winslow - returns Whiteside - making $$$ Bosh - likely done Green - NYK? Richardson - return Johnson - Nets? Team was gutted.
They've got the opportunity to go really hard after Moe Harkless as an RFA. I think he'd fit in nicely next to Whiteside... Other than that I'm not really sure. They're in for an awkward and painful rebuild. I hope Whiteside occasionally thinks about the Lakers looking out his window wondering what could have been. The Lakers have an opportunity to be better than the Heat next season.
Right now their depth chart: Dragic/Weber Josh Richardson/ Winslow/ McRoberts Whiteside Bosh might not play again. They've got 18.84 million. If I'm them, I'm throwing that at an RFA like Harkless. If Bosh retires, that money frees up next year some time and you have enough room for a max offer. That is going to be a rough team though... That's also assuming they don't match on Tyler Johnson who would cost them another 12+ a year. They better hope Whiteside stays focused too without veteran leadership around him.
