Mike Brown is as bad as Lane Kiffin. Always getting fired and getting better jobs. Falling up.

russ is good both on and off ball; ingram, ironically, is maybe better with the ball than without at this point. clarkson obviously is as well. i still play russ at pg, but use him like gs uses curry. most pgs, once they get rid of the ball, they're window dressing or spot up guys. russ can be different, and this dimension of his game should enhance clarkson, ingram, and randle's respective games.

Glad Shaw found us more attractive than Indy.

That feels nice after the public negativity of Ding's piece today.

Luke Walton's wife apparently went into labor about 3 hours ago! All my positive vibes are going out to them. Hopefully they have a beautiful baby born before we start pitching teams in 9 hours. ;)

Is the baby trying to also stick it to the Lakers too. Taking away Luke's ability to tend to our FA meetings :speechless:

I'm only sorta joking, Congrat's Luke! It's a tremendous blessing.

Just heard on Cowherd's radio: Jim and Luke wanted no part of DeRozan, Jim didn't want to pay 5 year max money for a shooting guard who can't shoot.

    I don't trust Cowherd.

Mostly because the Lakers couldn't offer DeRozan a 5th year so...

Jesse Mermuys made official and Madsen sticks on as an assistant. How about that?

Not sure how I feel about keeping Madsen. Would've rather have just starting with a clean slate for Luke. Loved the Shaw hire. I just don't know why you keep Madsen.

Luke should've postponed his baby so he could coach the summer league team and be a major part of free agency. Selfish.

I wonder if Byron's son who was still there for awhile at least (?) is now officially not on the formal staff any longer?

Maybe Luke likes him and what he brings? They've known each other a long time connected as players and after their careers.

I'm honestly not sure what Madsen brings other than being a practice coach.

Wasn't Mad Dog in charge of analytics for Byron's staff?

Madsen is the new Bill Bertka. Since the 80s, no matter who the coach, Bertka stays as an assistant, hangs around, does what he does and still returns to the Lakers. He'll probably be dying inside the Laker facility and he or the Lakers won't mind it.

Right so he was in charge of shuffling useless papers on Byron's desk.

Luke is the perfect coach stepping in just at the right time. A young genius coach on the cutting edge replacing a dinosaur that just couldn't change. All these young enthusiastic players to work with. Super talented crew that is likely going to win 20-22 more games, possibly more. Byron really set the table for Luke. Worst season ever, worst coach ever, how good is Luke going to look after all that? I love what Luke is saying about how he can use the players. Going to be very hard to game plan against the Lakers once they are up and running, just too many good athletes. I know some hate the Mozgov signing but he will be huge in making Luke's system work. Deng is another great signing, that it seems, most appreciate. I'm also very glad we extended Clarkson, in my head I couldn't accept any other outcome. The Lakers will be the most improved team in the league next season and a joy to watch. We will get to watch Luke put these guys in the right situation to succeed rather than continually having to witness then in the worst situations possible. Then even worse having to listen to them being ridiculed publicly. This season I can finally justify getting a new very big screen TV.
