Terrible, but we have no depth, so we don't have much choice on playing Boozed a ton of minutes. I'm hoping that as Kelly comes along, he and Ed can take over the PF minutes.

Boozer was at least effective tonight. Credit where it's due.

I'd still love to see more time for Davis.

Yo @CaCHooKa Man , you should make a highlight reel of Boozer's inexcusable attempts at defense and rebounding... Show just how bad defesivley he can be and that it's out of pure laziness. I still feel Boozer is pretty talented, but he's just uber lazy at defense that it's a determent to the team.

Edited so he can see your request- Barnstable

I still want Davis starting. I think we'd be so much better. Davis starting and Booz off the bench would improve this team on both ends of the floor, IMO. I just don't think Byron will do it unless Booz has some more stinker games. If we really want to compete though this is the move to make.

I know I changed my tune about this. Originally I was opposed to the idea of Davis starting, but that was in the place of Hill. I was also hesitant to see both Davis and Hill out there at the same time because I thought their games would be redundant, but when we did see some of that on the floor we looked much improved. Hill has shown the ability to knock down that mid-range shot nearly as well as Booz does. That opens things up. Put Davis in the post and we have some size. On D, it's not even close - Booz is a straight up liability whereas Davis is providing real rim protection. Add to the mix the chemistry that Lin and Davis have and Booz looks like the odd man out.

At the beginning of the season I too thought Davis and Hill would be redundant but after seeing them play they can work well together.

Hill adding that mid range shot was really smart and beneficial.

I think Boozer got the message last night that Davis is creeping on his minutes.... Not going to let one night fool me because I too thought he had a good game though giving up some plays to Millsap whose really elevated his game(also a free agent BTW). I think tonight will play a huge role on how Boozer guards Terrence Jones who might be too athletic for him, Scott HAS to pull the plug quick if Jones shows hes going to have his way with him.

I'm sorry TRD but anyone that says Monroe plays solid man defense is just going off of stats. Anyone that actually watches him play sees that he's an overall bad defender. He can score & rebound but he's 100% a below average defender. Unless we have Ibaka, AD, Marc etc. as our other big, adding Monroe will bring flashbacks to having Pau at C. We will get absolutely destroyed in the paint.

People said the same thing about Nick Young. I think he's capable of playing good man defense, maybe I should have said it that way. Have you seen him play with the USA guys? He actually does a pretty good job when he's called upon. He's got the ability to do it and in a new environment, with higher expectations and a more definite role I think he could be better than what he's shown in Detroit.

That would be an incredibly shady thing to do to Ed Davis who they're paying nothing for right now. I believe the organization has too much integrity for that.

Maybe hes already been talked to that theyre trying to drive up Hills value to be able to trade him then he will truly get his chance to shine by starting.

Byron must be serious about benching people for poor play....

Last two games Davis has only played 31 minutes combined. Oh wait, that's not the case with Davis? Mr. Pushover defers to the vets no matter what.

    Play the kid damnit.

Don't let this turn into Kaman 2.0. Ed seriously needs to be playing 30+ MPG.

At some point I really hope Byron plays Davis more minutes than Boozer. And have Hill/Davis close out games.

Yeah, playing only 12 minutes yesterday; are you kidding me? While I mention, playing Price a total of 24 minutes who absolutely contributed nothing in the points department yesterday; you're playing 4 on 5 out there on offense with him on the floor. Go Scott!!!

I don't understand the playing time Price is getting, and the lack of playing time Ed Davis.

I don't understand a lot of things that Scott is doing or trying to implement. Davis is arguably our best defender...he's not starting and playing limited minutes isn't helping us. He should be at 24-28 mpg, IMO.

^^ Agreed with all of you. I am still lobbying to start him over Booz, but at least play him a lot of minutes. The longer we wait on that move the more games we are going to lose.

Other than Booz's vet status as Doc mentioned, this seems like a real no brainer. Ed Davis works much better as a Pick and Roll pairing with Lin than Booz does. It's hard to even talk about the improvement on the defensive end without getting very upset. Davis vs. Booz? Are you joking? Really?

And my and other's pre-season concern about Davis/Hill together proves totally unfounded. It's actually a great match out there. Much, much, much better than Booz/Hill which is pretty damn rough.

Im still putting my money or holding him back some to not drive up his value, or elevating Hills so they can trade him before Davis gets the starter minutes.
