Most rookies have more difficulties in their sophomore years when they perform well as a rookie. This league isn't forgiving. They figure you out quickly and then you have to come up with something else or something unstoppable. JC was hands down our best player and considering he was a 46th pick, Russell, Randle, Roy Hibbert etc. should be ashamed. I think he can become even better. Not magically much better but still better. There is no reason he can't average 18/4/4.
That's actually a good point. I wonder what the numbers look like for 2nd round picks that perform their rookie years. I'm talking about sophomore and beyond. What would even be considered "performing" in this case?
OK here's some light pipe. What if .... against all odds ....like Kobe against all odds was MJ part deux ..... Clarkson has ....now don't mock .... somewhere around 1/2 to 3/4 of the Mamba's work ethic right here in the Lakers organization again (at least for now) .....and for the rest of his hopefully healthy career? What if he's the guy so far (tough company with Julius there too and hopefully DAR) ..... that is going to be the most hard core with it and Keeps It Up? Something new every year. Just stay in the gym until you fix whatever is pissing you off that you know you need to dominate. I'd say 1/2 to 3/4 of Kobe's preparation mentality would go a long way in this kid's future. Thick .... tight.
The competition for he alpha spot should be a joy to watch for us fans. Can Clarkson win it? I seriously doubt it, but I don't count him out and at the very least he'll help motivate the rest of the kids
