Don't know if this was posted or not. Feel free to delete if it was...

    Quote:

Statistically, Russell performed quite well compared to other rookies. Among first-year players, he was second in steals, third in assists, and first in both three-pointers made and attempted. Something that won’t show up on a stat sheet is all the oohs and ahhs Russell provided to the fanbase during the season.

    Quote:
That type of potential execution will bode will for Russell, who shot his best percentage last season (51 percent) with 18-22 seconds left on the shot clock, per NBA.com. His effective field goal percentage in those situations is even higher at 60.1 percent.

    Quote:
While Russell only averaged 3.3 assists per game last season, his assist percentage, which measures how many teammates make shots off of a player’s pass, was among the top-10 for rookies last season at 21.3 percent.

In other words, 21.3 percent of Russell’s teammates’ shots were assisted by him. That’s a pretty high number already, and it’s sure to go up next season when ball movement will be more prevalent in the offense.

Personally I was joking around trying to lighten the mood. I haven't been participating in this Russ talks too much conversation because I really don't care enough. I see valid points on both sides, but yes I think it's been a little blown out of proportion same as him being "a snitch" has. If I see him putting in work in the offseason, and then he performs on the court, that's all I care about. The whole Nick Young thing is old now, and I think and hope Young is gone anyway so I don't see it being an issue other it being a joke that follows Russ for a long time. Only way to make people forget is to get them talking about your play on the court in a good way.

His teammates cost him a ton of assists last season by missing layups, dunks, wide open threes. As you pointed out, the 3 assists per game stat doesn't tell the story on the surface, he's a much better playmaker than that. He could and probably should average 5 to 6 next season easily.

Nick should have beat his a**. Nick cheating on his girl is Nick's business, not the worlds via Russell. Part of being immature is stepping into an a** whooping and that will teach you a lesson. Maybe he wouldn't be as arrogant and immature now if he got his a** kicked at the time the event happened. He hasn't learned his lesson.

    Let's trade him for Hayward.

a legit roll man and a sf who can shoot might crank his assists per game up above 7. he clearly knew where to put the ball.

I am for trading Russell based on a lot of different things (I don't believe he'll be a superstar, I think he's arrogant and his game doesn't back up the talking yet, he's too slow to be an elite PG, and the snitch stuff will stay with him for a longggg time)...but I am not trading him for HAYWARD. I saw some idiot BR reporter suggest that we trade the 2nd pick AND russell for hayward and favors. If we do that trade, I'll quit being a Laker fan. Luckily our management isn't that stupid and will only do a trade involving russell if it nets us a superstar player.

Russell will be a very solid player in this league. I think he'll have the career of a Conley. Someone you want on your team, but you're always wondering how great you'd be with a position upgrade. I want to see him succeed with us, and he has the intangibles to do so, but the lack of explosiveness, to me, is a concern.

He's young, so he has time to change my perspective.

It's also immature to brag about cheating on your fiancé with a 19 year old. Russell screwed up, but I am adamantly against any defense of Nick in this situation. If it's none of DA's business, don't brag about it to your boys.

    Both can be at fault.

Nick did the worse thing. Cheating and bragging? Way worse than what Russell did. But I just hate the need to share and record everything. He's handling this the right way, though. Just an unfortunate situation.

Did Russell willingly post the video online? Uploaded it to his Twitter #LOL?

I totally get that and in no way is DA blameless. I just have a problem when people treat Nick like a victim. I also think Russ is stupid without a hurtful intention but people seem to want to believe that he's a lost cause. He might be, but I'm grateful I'm not judged based off the stupid things I did when I was 19

Why are we still talking about Young? He's likely gone. Even if he stays he's not part of our future. Not worth discussing. I don't post on Sacre or Kelly threads and point out their issues because scrubs don't matter. This isn't a contest of D'Angelo vs Young and debating who's at fault for the snitch incident. Young is insignificant. D'Angelo is the centerpiece of our franchise. The attention they get is relative to their importance to this team.

You're right, I'm certainly bored. We had a bit more action last offseason.

At least we'll get some info today after Ingram's workout.
