I wanna see results on the court, so I'll reserve judgment until then.

My apologies Toklat. Well, I wanted to keep those people nationwide. Siberia then...

On topic: it is good to read that Russell is keeping up with his regimen to prepare himself for the upcoming season. I am looking forward to how his relationship with Johnson is going too. Russell is probably chomping at the bit to take over the reins of the squad on the floor as I figure Walton will empower him to do so much like Kerr is doing in Golden State.

The one thing I DON'T like about Russell....he talks too much.

He really needs to be quiet and do his thing. He talked a lot last year and got abused from the get go in the summer league and he is already talking too much about next season.

He needs to STFU and let his game do the talking.

I completely disagree. He agreed to a small interview with the LA times. Other than that, he's been on the down low and everything that "he's talking too much about" is just fans getting excited about a few snapchats that his trainer posted.

How is he going to let his game do the talking in mid-June? Is he supposed to disappear off the face of the planet and not show his face until training camp? If he did that, then people would talk crap on him for not working hard.

Let the kid live his life and judge him when we see his on court performance in November.

How exactly is Russell talking too much? All he's saying is he's been in the gym a lot. Don't see the problem. If you're referring to the video yes I agree that was beyond stupidity, but other than that I don't see his talking as problematic. One of Russell's best attributes is his confidence.

That wasn't just about his interview. Its about since last year. In the past he has called himself the most dedicated player in the draft and he called himself the best player out of his draft class etc.

He talks a lot. Ask Nick Young.

I don't see what's wrong with that. Kid has confidence. There's nothing wrong with that and it's not like he isn't putting work in. That's what he's doing right now. It's important to have self confidence. Same that all the greats like Jordan, Kobe, Magic had.

At a younger age, Kobe jacked up 3 airballs in a row in the playoffs. That shows some irrational confidence to even take a second one, let alone the 3rd shot.

I see KB's point a little. The old adage of "don't just talk to the talk, walk the walk" applies to him. So far he's done far, far more talking than walking when it comes to his game. Put another way: if I had to guess I'd say Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle are working just as hard as him, but D'Angelo is the one posting 6 AM pictures once or twice a week. He wants us to know he's working out at that hour.

I don't mind the talking right now though. He has a long way to go to rebuild his image and he can't exactly do much walking at this point. To D'Angelo's credit he has described himself as a late bloomer of sorts. He takes a while to get going, but once he gets comfortable he takes off. That's how he described his play coming into the season. Maybe we're seeing a more comfortable Russell who understands now the type of work and dedication needed at this level. I hope so.

Other people brag about Kobe's work ethic.

    Kobe never had to.

I'd rather hear about D Angelos crazy workouts from someone other than himself personally.

He's just still a really immature kid, and I'm sure five years from now he would do things totally different. We just have to give him grace while he grows up and make some bad decisions.

What we need is a tough love coach who will tell him to shut up, sit on the bench, and figure things out.
