I like your whole post...except please PLEASE stop mentioning Bender. What if Jim and Mitch are thinking about it and they see your post and misinterpret it to mean some fans want him? I agree though. I'd rather build around this group. We have a chance to fight it out with Minny for the Western Conference in about 5-6 years. Any max free agent we sign isn't going to be part of us contending. Horford I like cause he can help this core develop. Whiteside won't help this core. Any free agent we sign should be looked at more as an accentuation of this core as opposed to an addition to it. Granted, this is assuming Durant isn't coming here. Durant is the kind of player you move anyone to build around.
I'm superstitious if I don't mention his name and start preparing myself like we are getting Simmons or Ingram that we won't.
Ah the anti-jinx. I do that every year with LeBron's teams. I mean, er.. the Cavs are so great, they're gonna sweep the Warriors, can't stop The Kang!
I support your call for affirmative action SirronMitch is with you I think until proven otherwise on draft day
JC is a proven hard worker, I've read recently that he's working on his 3 pt shot. I hope he understands that he needs to put in a lot of work defensively. If he can come in next season with improved defense, there won't be any of this talk about him being a 6th man.
i agree. if he were an adequate defender, he'd have almost no holes in his game. he can get to the rim, drive and dish (though not a pure playmaker), shoot from midrange, and his three improved last year. but that defensive improvement would be vast. i'll hope!
He's talked about improving three things: 1) His outside shot- he wants to hit close to 40% next season, 2) playing through contact and getting stronger, and 3) his defense. The first two are easy to work on by yourself while you're out travelling. The defense is a little harder to work on without your team around. He said as much in so many words that he and D'Angelo will work on those principles later on and focus more on the defensive concepts they'll have to learn. Another report also said he ran around his house screaming in joy when he heard Luke was hired. Just sayin'.
Him and every Laker fan with a pulse...even those who are paralyzed managed to run around the house when Luke was hired.
My man! What a freaking steal in the 2nd round; at the very least, he's a 6th man off the bench for a contending team, IMO. Love him. JC!!!!
