As cool as this is for Julius, I think this is incredibly important for D'Angelo. He can be immature and people have called into question his ability to stay focused. There's nothing like Team USA to help get him pointed in the right direction. This is a fantastic opportunity for him.

Why is no one talking about this? :D

They probably felt like they had enough wing players. Also, Jordan will be 24 years old in June. They may be targeting younger guys.

That's the twitter account of the Lakers' head trainer so I'm sure D'Angelo is doing plenty of leg workouts. Tim is a huge proponent of squats and deadlifts and the different types of those workouts.

Can't say how much I love seeing that. Shows the kid wants to be great. He wants to be that guy for this franchise and I've always maintained that he would eventually just that'll take some time. This is great to see because D'Angelo from a skilled stand point is up there for such a young player. Already a very good three point shooter, very good as a pick and roll player both as a passer and a scorer, solid in the post, has shown no trouble getting to the cup or to his spots of the floor. What needs to catch up is the physical component. That way you don't have some of these nagging little knick knacks he got during the year. That way he's able to be more physical on the defensive end as well as finishing through contact on the other end. I don't expect him to be a finishe product by the start of the season, but I do expect progress and I've seen nothing to make me anticipate otherwise. Keep working D'Lo.

D'Angelo got one total vote for Rookie of the Year and it was a third place vote. Probably a product of the snitchangelo incident.

edit- beat me to it Chook.

D'Angelo got just one 3rd place vote. The Porzingis overhype is real. I like Porzingis a lot, but he fell of considerably as the season wore on. Seriously check it:

    Porzingis: 14.3 points/ 7.3 rebounds/ 1.3 assists/ 0.7 steals/ 1.9 blocks in 28.4 minutes.
    Russell: 13.2 points/ 3.4 rebounds/ 3.3 assists/ 1.2 steals/ 0.2 blocks in 28.2 minutes.

    Porzingis: 42.1 FG%/ 33.3 3PT%/ 83.8 FT%
    Russell: 41 FG%/ 35.1 3PT%/ 73.7 FT%

The advanced stats have Porzingis pulling away with a better win shares (both offensively and defensively), better VORP, and better TS%.

Still though for Porzingis to get that much love and Russell to get only one 3rd place vote is still a slap in the face. I know Russell was far from perfect, but I still see plenty of room there for growth and he deserved more votes than that. I wonder how much the "scandal" cost him votes at the end as well as Kobe's farewell tour.

That's kinda ridiculous, I'd have had him no worse than 5th on that list.

eh, we'll look back at this and laugh in a couple years, when Denver is calling offering jokic, mudiay, and a 1st for Russell.

Boron benching him out of the blue when he was starting an uptick like Randle had to hurt a lot. In his season development and in league perception.
