Really excited to hear about the news about D'Angelo working with Magic this summer & being mentored all season. No better guy to teach D'Angelo about the PG position than the best to ever do it!

Those two should be helpful to him not just on the court, but off. Kobe and Magic are two of the smartest businessmen to play basketball as well as two of the greatest players. I hope if he takes something from this summer it's how to be a cerebral player.

Also I hope he learns to see plays 2-3 moves ahead the way Kobe and Magic did.

.... and Luke as well with Kobe recalling how most players thought ahead at most in 2s (passes leading to good shot attempts) but not Luke. It was 3s with him.

Probably from Snapchat, I have him on there & he posted "vacation over, back in the gym" has been posting snaps here & there of him at the gym already.
That's something I really like from Clarkson, always working.

That was so very true. I very much remember Luke have a good understanding of the game and positioning. He just wasn't the best player on the court. I have a great feeling about Luke and Magic being able to mentor Russell and making him a superb point guard. It would be great of when you mention Russell in NBA circles that people would need clarification on which Russell you are talking about D'Angelo Russell or Russell Westbrook because they both would be in the same superstar category. Man, signing Luke sure has been a "get well" pill for the Lakers (so far). I'm excited about this summer!

From the great piece and long list of quotes on Luke, put together by BleedP&G on LG and quoted in the "A New Era Has Begun" thread on page 1.

“He’s extremely smart. He always saw the game in combinations and sequences. … I kind of just chuckle a little bit at it, because I see he’s thinking in threes. Most coaches think in combinations of twos, but he’s thinking in threes. This pass leads to that pass is going to lead to that one. And I remember sitting in the locker room and going over this stuff with him.”

If you follow DLo on Instagram he tagged the trainer who he is working out with already. He looks like he is back in the gym with Devin Booker right now. Working on handles. He was schooling Devin in the drill

Also glad to see that all 3 are already back at it. Great to see

Thanks for posting. With all the news about JC, Nance and Julius working out, I was wondering where Russell is.

D'Angelo is such a natural at all facets of the game it's ridiculous how good he can become if he continues to put in the work. (ie how quickly and efficiently he learned to score from the post) He may never become the shooter Curry is but I could see him developing into a similar player with a more diverse skillset.

Those are his newest posts I believe. Looks like his frame is already starting to fill out which is good. I hope he's lifting. The best thing he can do right now is continue to strengthen his core. He's a terrifically natural basketball player, but in order to reach his full potential he needs to maximize the athleticism in his body. He's got to do a ton of squats, lunges, and deadlifts and get some strength in his hips and butt.

It's cool. But kinda funny .... Jordan and DAR with the beefcake pics from practice. Wonder if young Mamba would have done with today's media. (probably ;)) It was rare, if ever to see him in photos or footage with shirt off.

Edit. Disregard above. LOL at me talkin' out my butt:

But not a whole hell of a lot in this Kobe "shirtless" pics search: But maybe the 2nd one is "shopped"? If so only one near the top.

    Images Kobe Bryant shirt off
