Howard quit on his team. Imagine that. Harden doesn't even try on D. I mean, absolutely doesn't try. He just watches people dribble next to him.
Harden's defense is comically bad. There was one play where Harrison Barnes went right around him and dunked, and all Harden did was stand there. His stance was off, he was standing erect instead of having his knees bent. There was another play where Harden ran into the lane and failing to flop his way into a foul, and he just stayed there, while Golden State ran down the court with a man advantage. As long as Harden is the man in Houston, Houston will never win anything. He plays loser basketball.
I agree actually. Watching that game, even I was getting a little annoyed for Howard. Yes his post game is still awful, but typically if you feed him you get the other team in foul trouble. He had a stretch where he was controlling inside, then he didn't see the ball for 10 minutes or something. I'd get frustrated too. I still find great pleasure in his humility though. He ran away from Kobe to find a player that has half of Kobe's greatness and all of his magnified faults. Fantastic.
i knew the second dwight went to houston that he'd eventually become a problem and fall out of favor. and look what's happened just a little under 3 years later. and rockets fans can't say we didn't warn them so much fun to watch if i'm the warriors i sit curry the rest of the series and make sure he's 100%. the rockets are in shambles and the warriors can easily beat them without curry
yeah, i remember when we were debating about where howard should have wanted to go, and everyone, including most laker fans, said houston. i disagreed, for the reasons stated above. i thought it was obvious he was going from kobe to poor man's kobe, with no shot at real contention. i still think he should have gone to dallas, and that's probably where he should go this summer. but he's not very sharp, so he'll probably go back to orlando or something.
O'Neal called Harden on his leadership...showed 1st half clips of him just not caring defensively on a fast break. In the second half, there was that spin move by Green where he looked like he was nailed to the floor. Those two sequences were just embarrassing. And he received MVP considerations before? Superstar status?
everything i'm hearing is pretty much that dwight will end up in chicago next season but i wouldn't be shocked to see him go to dallas
I'm pretty sure I said Dallas as well although I thought Houston was fine. I could see him going to Dallas this summer. I could see him going to Orlando. I could also see everyone throwing stones at him until some crap team signs him which doesn't make any sense. Charlotte or something.
Harden is more like a rich man's Lou Williams than a poor man's Kobe. When I think of a poor man's Kobe, I think of someone like Brandon Roy before he got hurt.
Harden is a JOKE and OKC did the right thing. If that dude was on my team in a stupid pickup game, i would knock him out. Real talk, there would be blood. Looking at how soft it is, the fight would be a short one too .
You know Harden used to play hard defense on Kobe in Oklahoma City. He was a pretty decent defender. I think his signing in Houston was a blessing (popularity increase) and a curse (fat head now).
feel like that was a bit of media construction. every bench player that put 4 minutes of non-torch work in against kobe was immediately anointed, pretty much over the entire course of kobe's career. secondly, that was on-ball defense, where he's not as bad (though he's still bad). harden just doesn't do anything on a basketball court if it doesn't directly involve the ball. I find it sort of hilarious that he has all these stans in the national media, yet his game is a grotesque amalgamation of pure streetball and ref-baiting (odd mix, that one). he's basically everything that is soulless and wrong about basketball. and I get him shoved down my throat on a weekly basis. "oh, harden has to carry it all", "oh, harden's so efficient", "oh, harden has to conserve energy for offense". stuff it, all of you. I'm not sure I've seen a more overrated player in my time watching the game.
