I want to type the same thing using "White Side" but I'm pretty sure I'll just get a bunch of racist stuff.

Why check the thread, This place will not be accessible because of all the people coming on here celebrating.

Like the Good Old CL Days when you knew something 'BIG" happened.

I never want Lakersball to go down by the way...

If Jeanie wasn't reportedly all emotional about him they could just take him out in the parking lot, blindfolded and (insert thought) him. :Jacksnicker:

To keep him on MOCKS us. There will be a price to be paid if so. Not to mention the completely predictable result of having to fire him 10 games in. Boron the a-hole is not changing his spots (waaaaaay too entrenched in his ways and manhood to change) .....and becoming a good coach all of a sudden to put us at 8-2 out of the gate. More like 2-8 or 0-8. How can they f****** not see this??

    Just waiting for the headlines
    That "Byron Scott Resigns"
    Then kick back and recline
While I sip a glass of wine

    Hoping that every ugly tweet
In which I brought the heat
    Helped warm up his seat
    And made his tenure obsolete

Bring him back! He got us 17 massive wins this season. 21 last season! This guy can give us a new franchise low every single year he's here!!!! Who else can do something like that? He's unique in the NBA. Byron's a one of a kind coach.

So Thibs apparently crossed the Lakers off his list since he will have no bball ops control; Luke is currently undecided and hasn't made a decision on what to do quite yet. Scott Brooks is interested in the job, but I don't think the Lakers covet Brooks in a way that it will entice them to terminate Scott's services; we're probably left with Byron coming back next season as a placeholder. If the FO wants to put their future in the hands of Scott next year, that's on them. It won't end well, though. They'll likely all be removed and Phil will enter the equation.

So with Scott as our coach next season, assuming we keep our pick this season, what is the protection on our pick next season? Cause we might as well start gassing up the tank now.

No protection next season on our first-round pick.

    When I wake up Monday
I'd like to hear we're interviewing

Great. I wonder if we lose the pick, it actually HELPS Scott keep his job cause then our tank would have an open road to our pick next offseason? I also wonder if part of our pitch to free agents is you can pick the coach and that's why we haven't acted yet? Maybe the front office is thinking if everyone turns us down, then we are just going to punt again so why start another coach and system for what will amount to another 25 win season? Not saying I agree with it since Byron is doing long term damage to their development, but that might be the FO's thinking.

A legitimate concern is that FAs don't want to play for Byron. That can't be denied. I wouldn't be surprised if the Lakers are hoping for an early exit for Durant, Derozan, Horford, etc so that they may be more inclined to leave their team.

Honestly I'm in no rush. The Wolves will almost certainly hire Thibs at this point and that's okay with me. I don't like the coach having all the power in the organization. Van Gundy is doing well in Detroit, but I think there's a limit to the effectiveness that can have and I also don't think it works in a larger market. If Thibs was desperate for that much power, then he can have it there where he'll likely be very successful over time.

Unfortunately I can now see us definitely keeping Byron. The end times is near where we lose the pick, get very little love in FA, and then it stands to reason we tank again for the #1 pick. Who better to lead that charge?

Things this summer can go extremely well or extremely poorly. I'm just eating popcorn, hanging out until we get some more clarity.

We'll have more clarity come May 17, that's for sure. By that time all three of our swing man targets (Batum, DeRozen and Durant) will be out of the playoffs and we'll know whether or not we have a pick.

He's interviewing for the Wolves position. I don't think he's too old (54, around same age as Scott), but he hasn't been linked to the Lakers in any capacity that i know of; he'd be an upgrade, but then again, 90% of the people that post on this board would be better than Scott.

For me, it's clear: Lakers want Luke. They covet him. Their not going to make a change with Byron until Luke determines that he wants to be a head coach. Then, the Lakers will go after him.
