I agree. Past couple seasons the first round has been exciting. This season is not so much.

well, the record disparity in the west would have hinted strongly at this kind of first round. but the lower seeds haven't played at home yet. those games should be more competitive, in theory. but if you were hoping for drama in these series (in terms of being in doubt over the likely victor), you're going to be disappointed.

Speaking of the overall playoffs, I expected a little better out of the Raptors and C Bags at least. I didn't expect the 2 seed losing by 10 at home, and I expected better from the 4/5 matchups as well, hopefully those series get better as they go on. And the 3/6 matchups, I didn't expect ridiculous blowouts. I got an alert that the Heat set their franchise record for points in a playoff game today, and that's a team that won 2 titles a few years ago, now without LeBron, ridiculous. And on the other side the Thunder destroyed the Mavs. This doesn't look like the NBA playoffs so much as the 1/16 matchups in the Women's Basketball NCAA tournament.

I didn't and don't have doubt over the likely victor but it'd be nice to have the games be a little more competitive. Out of the 8 games 5 have been blowouts.

Thunder/Mavs game 2, now THIS is a playoff game, a fight every possession. Mavs up 4 with 14 seconds left. Make that up 1 with 9.5 to go, Durant with the clutch 3.

If Durant loses in this first round to the Dallas Mavericks, I think the chances of him leaving increase pretty dramatically. They go from 5% to about 25% or so.

Mavs win by a fraction of a second, wow. They are far too injured to sustain this and win this series, but great game, shows why OKC is not on the level of GS, SA, or even the Clippers.

Which is unacceptable with a former MVP and an MVP candidate on the team. Unacceptable.

mavs are a well-coached veteran team. they are totally outmatched, talent-wise, even when healthy. but you can't have complete no-shows against them and expect to win. I imagine okc wins the next three.

still, one lesson here is that good coaching + smart, hard-working players = competitive team.

Harden with 13 FTA at the half. What a joke.

It's so bad that Iggy had to step away from Harden to let him shoot a near full-court shot at the buzzer, since the refs might've given him another 3 free throws lol

This GS/Houston game is fun, because I hate Houston and I hate Dwight, and Houston is getting beat, and Howard is frustrated, acting like a baby, and just fouled himself out. Still such a man-child. And Harden's defense is still a joke. All this and no Curry. I hope he can rest as long as he needs, glad the Rockets are making that an easier choice.

Yes Howard was totally uninterested in this game. Harden's defense is nonexistent.

This Warriors and Rockets game was great. Both team went on runs in the first half; I am delighted to see the Warriors outplay their counterparts in the 2nd half without Curry.
Thompson is the best 2 guard in the game. I wasn't a believer before but this game does it for me. A complete 2 way player, unlike Harden.

So much fun to watch Coward go into temper tantrum mode. :dwightcrying:

Great W by the Warriors without even needing Curry. I hope they sweep the Rockets. That would be fun stuff!

FWIW, he sold his house in Oklahoma. He still has a condo downtown near the arena, but the mansion has been sold.. I heard he sold it for a million less than he bought it for.

lol, the refs try to make it up to harden (shamefully so, I might add--even the shill announcers had a hard time justifying most of the calls I saw), and they still lose to the curry-less warriors.

and yes, Dwight has checked out. not sure I blame him, though. he gets no credit when things go well there and has to eat the same crap sandwich as everyone not named james harden or daryl morey, who are most responsible for their mess, imo. Dwight eyerolled his coach when he was subbed out for fear of retaliatory hack-a-plays late in the first half. that dude is out of there, and contrary to popular belief, I'm not sure Houston is going to just scoop up a better player in FA. who would want to play with harden? seriously?
