stein is generally among the most fair at espn, and he doesn' seem to have it in for the lakers like many folks over there. i think he's shooting straight. it's going to take something miraculous for the lakers not to be one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the league again next year.

    Followed a 48 point loss
With a win over the Heat
    Who are 43 and 31
And a team we shouldn't beat

Maybe that's why Jordan did what he did ..... to take some heat off his buddy. Wore the dorky head band. Not a good look for him but fell on a grenade for his pal.

Maybe it would be helpful if Kwame Brown reached out to the kid too. He's been in that position at Staples and went on to have a fine career with the Lak ....... errrrr ..... no wait, scratch that.

Boos suck but they were expected, even Kobe has been booed in Staples when he requested a trade. They all eventually turn into cheers as they did last night too.

Here are all of the 19 & 20 year olds in NBA history to average 20/6/6 per 100 possessions. Russell's at 24/6/6.

Got this from GT on LG. Encouraging. Shooting has struggled this month. Below 40%. Shooting 37.5 percent on 3's though.

'I'm not just an "analytics guy", Lanny. I've spent years on the court, coaching the game. I use numbers as frequently as I do because I find subjective arguments/debates to be pretty boring, for the most part.

Yes, these games are absurd, and he's certainly not performing in a high pressure environment. But ultimately, I'd argue that the context of this season suppresses his talents a lot more than a low pressure environment accentuates them.

He's playing for a terrible coach, in terrible schemes, within the circus of the Kobe Farewell Tour, and sharing touches with 3 other (Kobe, Clarkson, & Williams) perimeter players. He's leading the team in assists, steals, & 3-point percentage. He just fell below Lou Williams, but up until last game he led all of our perimeter players in eFG%.

The point isn't that he's good right now, it's that he's a comparable contributor to much older guys who are in the same position as he is, which is exceptional. He's also comparable with other young perimeter players in the league (who were usually also on bad teams) who turned out to be all-star caliber players.'

^GT's response to someone saying that Russell is just putting stats up on a bad team. Though that was good stuff.

Lol. "Putting up stats on a bad team". Did he look at that list? Every single player on that list was on a bad team at the time with the exception of Magic Johnson. That argument should be irrelevant when it comes to rookies and sophomores because they are still adapting to the NBA. And, chances are that if you're a great rookie, you most likely ended up on a lottery team anyway. What this should show is DAR's potential, and he has the potential to be a superstar.

Even if they aren't true point guards who cares? As long as they aren't selfish chuckers. Most of the top point guards aren't true points. Lillard, Steph, Westbrook, Wall, Parker, the only one who immediately comes to mind is Chris Paul.

For anyone still panicing over the "incident" (his Colorado already which is going to focus him like a beast all off season because he knows it's the only way back. Game knows game) and wanting him gone like now ...... these words from GT were ... well .... golden.

Yeah, hey "Dad" maybe if you come year after next it would be great for the kid, you can be his Pops too. But if you come we aren't running the damn Triangle all the time. Maybe some here and there to change up. I got my own system and it's really good, and Jeanie promised me that when I signed for 4 years.

He since deleted that tweet. LOL!! Safe to say Young is having an emotional meltdown right now.

I'm not happy with what Russell did because ANY invasion of privacy is uncool. If he'd asked about all the things Nick was most scared of in the world and one of them was bunny rabbits, that would be uncool. Why record that stuff?

But I do NOT feel sorry for Nick right now. You cheated man. That's on you. Russell owned up to what he did, why don't you do the same? Stop tweet-deleting passive aggressive nonsense and figure your own stuff out.

That's a pretty popular sentiment. The Lakers aren't going to give up on the kid for something like this, but he's just GOT to be more focused. They've been asking that of him all year and his personality kind of got in the way of that. He's aloof, he takes pride in that, and he has been adamant about going through his process and learning slowly. Well hopefully this shows him that maybe there needs to be a greater sense of urgency when you're a professional. So far it looks like he's getting it, but it's early in the process. I'd love to see him finish these last few games strong while continuing to rebuild his rapport with his teammates.

When Russell apologized to the team yesterday, Nick wasn't present in the locker room. Apparently, a source close to Nick hasn't accepted any apology from Russell. There will and unfortunately always be a rift between those two, though, I hope it does get mended one day.

But a source close to Young has remained adamant that Russell has not apologized directly to Young. By Young’s own choosing, the source added Young was not present when Russell addressed the team before the game on Wednesday.

“I don’t know if they were accepted,” Russell said. “If not, I wouldn’t blame him.”

As of now, Young has not accepted any apology. Young also declined to field questions from reporters before the game and only offered a statement that lasted for about a minute.

“I don’t want to get into my personal life right now,” Young said. “I think it’s best me and D’Angelo handle the situation we have in a private manner outside of the media. I think it’s something we do need to sit down and talk about. That’s about it. What happened is what happened. We have to work on it.”
