D'Angelo said he got the same advice from just about everyone. Just go play.

With him being a 20 year old kid, you do have to feel for him. I'm 24 right now, so I'm not that far from his age, and at 20, if I can't go out without someone saying something negative to me, I would feel so terrible.

This is great to see and hear. The young core is in tact....and as long as everyone supports D'Angelo...he'll be fine. This will force him to focus a lot more on basketball going forward. I didn't like his game tonight offensively, but I thought he was very active defensively, and he did have some nice plays in OT. He could have pouted and he could have gotten down on himself...but he pushed through and made big plays in the clutch. He also recognized it was Clarkson's night....and when Randle had the ball in the clutch....he didn't ask for the ball...he could tell that Randle wanted the ball. That's what you gotta learn to do ....when to take over and when to know it's somebody else's night. I think he did that tonight.

From a line off "Spectre"...if anyone can dole out advice being "a kite dancing in the storm" it would be 24. All the greats go through adversity whether it was self inflicted or not. This will only hopefully make Russell a better player and more importantly a better person.

I wanted to voice an opinion...

All this "bro code" talk is pure hypocrisy.

If, like many claim, the team is a brotherhood, you behave like brothers within a family would.

Your younger brother did something stupid that hurt you or your other brothers. Alright. Did he do it on purpose and in malice? If you believe he didn't - you move the hell on. You perhaps smack him on the top of the head or do not talk to him for a month, but you don't stop being his brother and demand he be exiled from the family.

People are too caught up in fake, Hollywood-induced toughness to just stop and think for a second.

Well, Russell showed remorse and realizes the horror of the consequences of what he felt was just an innocuous prank. Innocence lost...

^Thanks for the voice of reason Zen. Somebody hand that man a beer!

A lot of encouraging tweets after the game. I liked Randle's response the most, he seems to be the most mature of our young trio.

I guess we won't be talking about this huge "scandal" in a week anymore lol.

    It's been a weird season

I was at the game and the boos eventually stopped since we weren't losing for most of the game. It was rough at the beginning though.

You are getting much better with this. Perhaps a career in jingles writing, Charlie Sheen/Harper style?

Clarkson has been my favorite player since we drafted him.

His instagram was hacked not long before this. If one of your account gets hacked, you should assume that everything has been compromised. But for some reason, the media keeps saying that D'Angelo intentionally leaked this or that he's a snitch and bla bla bla.

Great to hear the damage was kept to a minimum.

As for the boo's from the fans, I'm OK with it. It's just a simple message --- "we don't like what you did." He deserves some heat for being stupid and responded well to the adversity. Moving on...

Russell needs to grow up. The problem is that his dad is a clown too. He was busted with weed in a new maserati like 2 days after Russell signed his contract.

Russell needs someone he can look up to and who mentors him. Not like Kobe but a father figure. Right now he seems to be in a not so great environment. Not criminal, just not a very thoughtful environment.

yeah, I thought that was a red flag at the time and said so here (wasn't a popular opinion). I also remembered watching some pre-draft interviews in which both he and okafor made me a bit nervous (as opposed to towns, who seemed more connected with adult reality). I don't think either of those guys have had really good role models, and graduating to nick young and gilbert arenas may even be a step down.

maybe this public wake up call can steer him onto a better path off the court.

honestly, my biggest concern is him forgetting how to play basketball for the past several games.

This will pass, but man is it terrible press right now. Nobody was talking about us, now we're the topic on 3 of the 4 ESPN channels at once. SportsCenter, Mike & Mike, First Take Re-take, all Russell at the same time. The worst part being for me that the heat now seems to be completely off B0ron, excuses are being made, he's being made to look like he DID have to deal with an immature Russell and may get another year. Makes me sick.

Marc Stein was just on Mike & Mike, talking about how bleak our immediate future is. Saying we were already up against it in free agency as no one is running to LA to play for this distinction and losing, and this Russell thing makes it worse now. Echoing that we may keep B0ron another season to maybe wait on Phil. Saying do Mitch and Jim want to give another coach a long term deal if they may not even be here after next year. It's a mess, absolute mess. I know ESPN likes our misery and exaggerates, but we're hearing this all over. I don't want to come here if I'm a free agent either. They mention Durant, he says only possible scenario is if he has another star or 2 agree to join him here.

They ask him what do the Lakers do then, what's the first step, Stein says look at trades, maybe someone will give up a star for some of our young 3. He mentions Cousins again for one. I really don't want to do that, and I really hope he's wrong, I don't want Russ or Randle traded. JC I wouldn't be super upset about, but those 2 have potential I want to see given more time. He made no mention of us having possibly the #1 to #3 pick, which is either a very good player, or a trade asset itself. I dunno, all his has just really brought me down after that win, ESPN absolutely loves to kick us when we're down, but maybe in this case they're being the most realistic where TWCSN is the sugarcoat everything extreme opposite.
