I wouldn't assume Kobe uses steroids, but there's other ways to use PEDs and such. Those knee procedures he gets are basically a form of blood doping. Kobe has never gotten significantly bigger though.

Guys like Wade and LeBron and Dwight all show signs of serious steroid/PED use though.

I absolutely believe he was using steroids. It's fairly obvious that he was using something before and has stopped since. At the very least he's slowed down. You don't shed muscle mass that easily like Kasumi said. Cutting carbs drops fat, not muscle.

It's conceivable that he dropped carbs and then ran an incredible amount (probably more than before his diet) which would force his body to metabolize the proteins in his muscles. That would result in reduced muscle mass. However, that's really unhealthy AND extremely unlikely given the time frame that he dropped weight.

Keep in mind though that I believe the majority of professional athletes are enhancing their abilities in ways that are against the rules.

if that's the case, wouldn't the NBA look into it? I'm sure there is many among the NBA that would most likely suspect the same thing then...

they would look the other way. Lebron is their golden child so they will try to avoid the situation until it becomes too obvious and it gets an incredible amount if attention

I talked about this earlier too. The NBA and sportsmedia cannot have a guy like Lebron get caught up in that type of scandal. They wouldn't mind a star/border line superstar but not one of their premier players. They would accept say Dwight getting hit but not your Bron or KD types. It would be a PR nightmare especially after all the "physical specimen" and praise of otherworld greatness. They will need a big name though to show they are tough on it when they do start testing though. Maybe a guy like Blake Griffin?

I mean if Lebron was on the juice, and it was that obvious... I'm sure someone would publish some public articles about that. Why would he discontinue his use of the juice and not only look like he was on roids, but leave that dominating body?

I don't know what answer you are looking for to be honest because I think most have already stated the "why" they believe it to be the case. No one will know for sure until someone retires and blows the whistle like Canseco did in baseball and Denny (I think thats his name) the ex NBA ref did about game fixing. The speculation on the science of roids is hard to ignore with his transformation.

The NBA just made their biggest ever television deal worth how many billions? Nobody is going to mess with that kind of money. The NBA can make you rich, why shed light on their problems? Once the NBA slows down and viewership fades, you'll start seeing these things come to light. Or maybe the other direction: if the NBA gets as powerful as the NFL, people might take the chance and snitch even knowing they'll lose some business.

Why would he stop using? He probably was told there'd be testing and that he'd have to stop using. There were plenty of rumors that the NBA was going to try to get more serious about PED usage.

If someone were to come out and shed light on LeBron's PED usage, does anybody know what will happen? He'll get suspended, but is that it? Will his records be dropped? Or what about the rings?

Everything that he's done and earned will have a huge asterisk next to it.

It'd flood out how prevalent PED use is in the NBA. I don't know that LeBron would go down without implicating a lot of others too. Wade would be an easy target. Maybe Howard since everyone already hates him.

I think it'd be much like Barry Bonds, except people will be more apt to forgive him.

Kobe's blood doping is essentially PRP. It just helps you heal faster, it doesn't make you faster or stronger.

Nonetheless I could see ESPN going after him just to take the heat off of Lebron.

As for Lebron, I believe he's been juicing since the NBA, and doing hgh since his growing years. Anyone remember a childhood friend of LeBron interview where he said that Lebron grew a couple inches overnight at his house? All sexual jokes aside, that's pretty fast even for a teenager. But it's possible if you're doping during your growth spurts.

Healing faster is still performance enhancing. I really don't care, the NBA could have done something about it, but they didn't and now it's too late to put their foot down on it.

Honestly I'm not even against PEDs and just PEs at all. If it's done right it's not that dangerous and it makes the athletes better, stronger, and faster. It gives us as fans a better product. But there's been so many mixed messages, the rules are all murky, they don't want to encourage PEDs and PEs in kids who can't control it like alcohol or cigarettes.

I just feel like if we're going to bury everybody who has used PEDs in professional sports, guys in the NBA shouldn't be exempt. Especially not their leading role model.

So LeBron quits on his team for a night, and it's teaching a lesson. Now I've heard it all. This is simply ESPN and LeBron's obsessed fanboy stalker/writer setting up LeBron's hero story for if and when they win it all. This is the learning process stage, the horrible imaginary dark times they need to set up to make the winning in the end look even more amazing. I couldn't wish for them never to win any harder, I'd love to see the happy end to this story never written.

I think Memphis wins it all this year. LeBrons team won't play any defense.
