I wonder who these teammates are. Clarkson and Swaggy seemed really close with Russell. Obviously not anymore with Swaggy at least. Was he going to management to get back his starting spot? Who was he throwing under the Buss (seriously, no pun intended)? Why did they not trust the guy before?

I will say that I'm NOT super pissed at DLo for this bro code infraction. I'm pissed at him because he was f---ing around and did something to hurt the team, maybe in a long-term way. We already looked like a dumpster inferno. Now we look like burning, nuclear wasteland.

Reportedly, the Lakers are willing to categorize this as an error in judgement from a 20 year old immature kid. It's my perspective that they are (Lakers Organization) completely sold on his talent; however, there are questions within the organization about his maturity and practice habits. The hope is that this incident accreleates his growing curve and maturity.

We'll see how it goes from here on out.

This "snitch" stuff drives me f***ing crazy. Don't do the thing, don't blab about it, or STFU.

How about a young Kobe in Eagle CO telling the investigators "he should have done what Shaq does ... that Shaq would pay his women not to say anything" and already had paid up to $1 million "for situations like this."

Plenty of examples of young star players needing a STFU pill regarding teammates. And we will get over this with DAR but he absolutely needs to take some major lumps over this to knock him off his high perch. DAR needs to get knocked down several notches. He can build his self back up in the eyes of the team the right way, by earning it.

I vote for don't do it.

I'm not excusing DAngelo, but everyone is giving Nick a free pass in this. Society today. SMH.

I agree, but unfortunately it's prevalent especially in professional sports. But it's one of those things where it's gotta stay between the guys. You can't do what Russell did and not expect the consequences that he's facing. I blame Nick just as much as Russell for this situation strictly from the standpoint that he obviously does not respect his woman enough to want to brag about his exploits, but at the same time Russell should not have recorded that convo. Once it hits the Internet, it will always get out and now the team is fractured and us fans are suffering for it. As if we haven't been suffering enough with this horrible season. This is one of those situations where the immaturity of Russell has finally caught up to him. I hope he learns from this.

I don't go along with the "snitch" thing either, that's not how I live life, but it is what it is, he broke a teammates trust. This is not a little thing, it's caused a rift in the team, and this kid is supposed to be the future of the team, the leader of it, for that reason alone this is bad, bad news. I've recorded and uploaded the PTI segment on this, as I felt it was worth watching. It's all bad, Shelburne even says she can see B0ron staying, and she brings up trust issues that were already there with Russ all season because of stuff like him not taking his responsibility serious enough, it's a freakin nightmare. Check it out before ESPN pulls it

She sounded pretty down about D'Angelo's standing with the team even BEFORE this incident... I don't like that...

@Weezy thanks for posting that video. I hadn't seen it.

Another year of Bryon.. ugh. But really, it makes sense if Jim and Mitch might be out in a year.

Her comments on Byron Scott at the end shows just how ignorant she is and the FO is to how bad of a coach he is. It's your make or break year and you want to roll with the worst coach in NBA history to save you. EL OH EL. Bold move Cotton. Might as well start clearing out your offices now.

I can't believe how anyone associated with the Lakers doesn't realize this. But he's a Lakers legend...Who cares...He has a rapport with players...HA that's worked out so well

You literally could pick any other coach in NBA history that has coached and have better luck.

Sorry to derail the thread but the negligence shown by anyone involved with the Lakers is just as bad as this Russell controversy.

This is a very good balanced piece on the ongoing situation between Russell and Young. I trust Ding more than Ramona. That took place (my trust in Ding over Ramona) when Ding correctly predicted the Lakers would take Russell number 2 over every other best writer and national columnist.
