Nick cheating is WRONG but it has no influance on the free agency. Russ being a "snitch" will bite us all in the a**.
We couldn't lure the big FA talent before this news broke. It certainly won't help our attempts again this next summer.

NBA ball, with the long season and constant travel, is all about team chemistry. This guy is gonna be Kryptonite for a long while.

    It's on all b0ron's anyway...

Good... Take responsibility and it is up to him to have common sense. Scott has spoken of him being too playful most of the time so maybe this will tell him that his career is serious business.

No John Black has planned to have the two of them to speak to the media before the game tonight. Maybe Russell doesn't know that yet. :D

Maybe... "Expected" doesn't mean it will actually happen. I do think Laker brass will tell Russell to address the situation.

This is getting ridiculous. That First Take garbage was too much.

I can't help but sit back and wonder, if this story was Steph instead of D'Angelo (all other aspects being equal; timeframe, nature of conversation in video) would GS fans be screaming about trading him at any cost? Just get him out of the facility, we'd be better off?

And as far as trading him, if we are entertaining the idea, well kiss that goodbye according to Skip and SAS (and some posters on here). You have to cut him. NOBODY will trade for him. NOBODY will ever trust him. He is the devil incarnate. 0 trade value. He's a throw in in any deal now, right?

And who knows, maybe I'm on the wrong side of history on this one. Maybe I'm the guy screaming you can't pass on Ryan Leaf because Peyton Manning can't beat Florida. I'm at peace with that. But I have the sneaking suspicion that if D comes back next year and is putting up 20/10 a night, won't be hearing a ton about trading him or how he's broken the "bro code".

Russ gets hacked a lot. He said his instagram account was also hacked at some point this year.

The difference between you and me is that you say the logical thing. Human beings are not logical. They act from emotions. He broke a players code.
I say at least 80 perecent of them are cheating their wifs. They face so much temptations you will not imagine to think about. So yes from the players of the league point of view its a hugh deal. And Chemistry is the most importany thing in basketball.
The s*** Kobe said is no comparisment to leading a guy talking about his s*** and recording it like an a** hole.

Forget about our team for second and I know other members here have echoed this but the biggest damage this has for us overall is attracting free agents. Do they want to play with someone like this? Do they want to play with someone this immature?

This is the most damning part of this whole debacle.

The good thing is the Lakers won't be in the playoffs so this drama will eventually fall off and focus will be on the playoffs and Kobe's retirement. I think the best solution to all this is for dlo to state a apology to the media for his actions

At this point...probably not. It will now depend on how Russell conducts himself from here on. Will he be contrite? Will he be petulant? If it is the former, then it will be chalked up to stupidity on his part and will be water under the bridge or at least mostly. The whole "account was hacked" excuse is a lousy cover-up since he should not have been doing it in the first place.

If I were a veteran coming over, I'd face Russell and tell him to grow up and never try that on me or anyone else for that matter.

no. all this will blow over soon enough. russ will just have to work hard to earn back the trust of his teammates

the biggest damage to the lakers attracting free agents is that brain dead moron at head coach

OK step back from the ledge. Too many getting "vapors" over this. Cut him, trade him for chips. Stop. He's not going anywhere and like YoungThundercat says above will be forgotten by start of next season. This clearly was stupid kid thing to do and not malicious if the hacked part is true. He's got to say the right things, apologize to all offended factions out in Lakers land and then buckle down and go to work this summer to be the kind of franchise important player he believes he's going to be. Good smack of reality for him now. Whatever happens with FAs is going to happen. Praying for the ping pong balls to give us some of that unbelievable Gilbert / Cleveland luck at least 3 years running, not even his 4.

How he handles himself here is going to hold a lot of weight with me about how I feel about him going forward. He's go to knock this one out of the park...embarassment, shame, remorse...and maybe tears.

If he acts like an arrogant b****
He'll always be known as a snitch
If he shows he feels like dung
    People will remember he's young
