when Kobe had the Colorado incident and he made reference to Shaq's transgressions, was he done? and you seriously believe that "bro code" is more serious than any law? with all due respect, this is getting ridiculous. he made a terrible mistake. what matters now is how he handles it, but i have a hard time believing this moment will define his career.

p.s. i'd like to add that if you're post was sarcastic, my bad. i re-read it and am starting to think i interpreted it too literally.

Kobe was the best player in the league and a proven champion. Sure, we can chalk it up to D'Angelo being young, immature, and making an egregious error in judgment, but comparing the situation to Kobe's isn't exactly the same, IMO.

Is this the only time Byron has openly protected D'Angelo this season?

Kobe was a 3 time champion and arguably the best player in the league at the time. D'Angelo is a rookie on a 15 win team. Not even a viable comparison.

it's not the same, but the point is about the whole bro code so it is still relevant. this is a big deal at the moment, but how he handles his mistake will dictate the future. if he owns up to his mistake, takes responsibility and proceeds to work his tail off this summer to come back a much improved player, this incident will be forgotten. I'm still standing by my comparison.

Probably. However, those responses sound like they came from Mitch. :)

Damn that court around him seems empty. :D :speechless:

edit- To clarify this is after the team's shootaround. It's notable that sometimes more than one guy would stay after to hang and work with D'Angelo, but uh... no one else seems to be there at the moment.

Totally possible, but the reporters said Byron threatened to end the interview if they kept asking D'Angelo Snapchat questions. One of his few good moves this year.

I'm totally with you on that.

As for Nick Young and guys around here calling him a cancer. I think he's just like most of the NBA dudes and his personal life is none of our business. He always seemed to lighten up the locker room and you need a guy like that. He's not an issue to me here. I think no one cares about him and it could've been Sacre or someone else. They are all gone anyway at some point of time.

Russ is supposed to be a franchise cornerstone ... the damage this does ... man.

I'm leaning more and more towards cleaning the house. FO out, Boron Out, most of the players out (except guys like Randle, Nance, Clarkson). But I'm not so sure what to do with DAR - this is simply just bad ...

For the most part I agree (for once) with Stephen A.

Props to the kid for using this time to get in the gym instead of doing something stupid.

He's been struggling with this shot lately. The extra work will help. Plus, we can probably attribute dealing with this matter hasn't exactly kept his head in the game and probably contributed to his lackluster performances. We'll see how he responds tonight.

I'm sure Russell is well aware of the damage he has done so he'll atone for it someway somehow. This reminds me of the Bogut situation when his teammates in Milwaukee shunned him for making "lifestyle" comments. It's really just a stupid prank but unfortunately the media will fan this to be way bigger than it should be for clicks and ratings.

Now will potential free agents look and say I am not playing with this dumb kid? Probably...but there are those who will tell him not to pull this crap again or anything remotely close for that matter. Has Arenas ever lived down the gun incident? No...it will be the same case for Russell from here on out. His solution is to play to the best of his abilities, act professional and be the leader he's supposed to be.
