    That everything is earned?
Idk, he tries so hard to be a hard/tough coach like Riley but no, just no.

I think he really wants the guys to "step up and earn everything" but that's just not how coaching works anymore. I think he assumes they'll just step up and start getting it without actually communicating to them how to do it. If you don't give kids clear and concise goals these days, they're not going to understand what you're looking for. These kids aren't lazy or stupid, they just don't know what the coach/team want from them.

There's an old school idea of "if you have to ask for directions, then you don't get it!" but that's just not how kids work anymore.

I took this from the NCAA thread and brought it here cause I'd to like to bring it up again just to point out how bad our coaching staff really is. You asked about Boston, but I've been paying attention to Charlotte in recent days too, and Portland all season. Portland is a game over .500, Charlotte is 41-30.

Do we really believe that Charlotte's roster is that much better than ours? Our roster aside from Kobe has been really, really heathy. Al Jefferson has only played 36 games for Charlotte, that's kind of a big loss to play through. No question the Hornets have a decent roster and some players that have stepped up, but should they really be TWENTY-SEVEN games better than us? Should Portland be 22 games better? I'm not even sure Steve Clifford is a great coach or anything, he was a Mike Brown guy, but he must be solid to be doing what he's doing. Coaching in the NBA clearly matters that much, and my point in all this is, B0ron has to be fired in April, he's gotta go, he cannot be brought back. He's a disease that we need to cure.

Agreed. I think we would finish with 38-41 wins with a great coach.

I do believe that Charlotte's roster is better than ours, but like you said, not THAT much better but maybe just slightly.

    Roy Hibbert/Brandon Bass --- Al Jefferson/Cody Zeller
    Julius Randle/Larry Nance --- Marvin Williams/Frank Kaminsky
    Kobe Bryant/Nick Young --- Nicholas Batum/Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
    Jordan Clarkson/Lou Williams --- Courtney Lee/Jeremy Lamb
    D'Angelo Russell/Marcelo Huertas --- Kemba Walker/Jeremy Lin

It's better, but I'm saying is it 27 games better when we have had almost no injury? No way. The only position I'd say they are clearly much better at is SF. I'd guess if B0ron was their coach, they'd be out of the playoffs right now.

Keep in mind that Jefferson and Kidd-Gilchrist have been gone most of the year.

Funny you mention that. This is a real image of Byron on the sideline taken with a special new filter that can identify harmful life forms underneath the surface skin and hair. Baaad news .... this guy.

Hornets have a top 10 defense plus are in the East . They do have a better roster than ours .

Blazers have one of the most prolific duos in the NBA when it comes to scoring and some nice role players around ( Aminu , Davis , Plumlee , Leonard , Crabbe) .
Basically they have a roster which fits today's NBA style ... Sixth best offense in the league

We have talent but no SF , no superior defenders , not enough shooting and a lot of dead weights on the roster ( Hibbert , Sacre, Kobe , MWP , Kelly ...)

32-35 wins would have been reachable with good coaching but not more

Kobe Bryant is not a dead weight out there for crissakes who deserves to be lumped in with your group of "weights" mentioned. Show some freaking class to the player, one we will never see again with the enormous range of polished skills, drive to win and play hurt as no one else ever seen in this league. Can that be managed for his last few games? He AGAIN was not a dead weight in the win last night.

wc is right that the team's highest hopes were 35 wins with a competent coach. that said, i'd rather have gotten 35 wins than a 50/50 shot at a pick and poor player development.

...all the mentions of teams with comparable rosters doing much better than us just irks the hell out of me. It is now a chicken or the egg question if a tank is really occurring or Scott is that much of an imbecile as a coach. I mean really with all his rotations, decision making et all it just doesn't make sense.

Yep. A 35 win team with $60 million in cap space is more appealing than a 15 win team with the same amount in cap space. A star would see a 35 win team and might think with his talent the team can possibly make the PO's, IMO.

Additionally, it gives all free agent(s) the evidence we have turned a corner in Los Angeles and players will flock too play here .
