^^ It's one of those "I'm sorry you FEEL that's what happened, but I'm not sorry about what I did because i didn't really do anything wrong." If that's the stance of John Black, it seems Nick and Jordan are probably telling the truth.
You mean that Black believes they're telling the truth? Btw, I think her narrative is clear and nothing anyone said contradicted it. What is JC and Nick saying is false about what she said? That they didn't cut her off? That they didn't say anything or do anything lewd?
Right. If Black believes them, I'll trust his judgment. I'm not sure how the stories differ but Black is indicating that is the case. I'm sure we'll learn more. My guess is that the boys were a little immature and maybe lewd, (definitely inappropriate) but mostly harmless, and Jones is completely blowing their inappropriate behavior out of proportion for publicity.
as I said earlier...really don't like that arenas is hanging around our young guys. not the right dude. I can handle mwp because I think he has gained some insight/wisdom over time, but gil seems to get crazier and dumber with each passing day.
Really nice bounce back game after slumping for a little while there. He got to finish the game and he made the most of it, scored down the stretch, made some plays like the pass to Bass for the reverse almost-dunk, and 2 big interception steals from Barnes and Allen to seal it.
Claiming sexual harassment against someone is a serious matter that most people perceive as being forceful or touching someone in inappropriate ways. The fact that John Black is on their side tells me she's blowing it out of proportion because if there were even a SHRED of evidence (like let's say the video she claims to have) the Lakers are going to go over and above what is necessary to apologize.
Found this on reddit. She definitely knows who nick young is. She not only went to school with him but also did a report on him and I'm assuming interviewed him as well. Not trying to say nothing happened but she is looking less credible.
^Wow! That video report she did on Nick is pretty damning. Normally I'd say there was a chance she didn't recognize Nick's face in the car, even though she did this piece on him a few years ago, but considering she's also an activist that deals with Athlete misbehavior, and she also lives in LA.... I think it's pretty unlikely that she didn't know who he was.
Probably should go in the Nick Young thread but this is where this discussion took place, so I'll leave that here. With his comments + the Lakers comments + her not being "available" to meet with the Lakers to educate them on the topic after that was her whole goal to begin with + her lying about not knowing Nick I'm going to have to side on the fact that the Lakers called her BS on the sexual harassment part, she got what she wanted (Publicity) and we won't hear anything more about this. Gonna have to see the video for me to lean her way because in this day and age, if anything happened that really crossed the line, the Lakers would have suspended, fined those two to not catch heat like some NFL teams have.
Actually I think the "not available" thing is legit. One of the Laker reporters posted on Twitter how she is right now in Washington DC to visit the White House. Otherwise I agree. Seems like she tried to make a point, but didn't realize exactly how big this was going to get.
Not gonna lie. After watching that video, I actually think she may have been following Nick. LA is a BIG freaking place. The odds she was there now knowing she has a history with Nick? Sorry. Maybe this all went down exactly like she said, but I have to listen to my common sense meter. This feels like a setup to me.
don't want to invest myself much further in this, particularly given the above, but while we can cast aspersions on putting cheese in a trap, the mouse has to take it.
Like cheese to a mouse And Alpo to a mutt There's a magnetic attraction Between ball player and slut?
He hit some big shots, but I thought he and D'Angelo played pretty selfishly in the 4th. There was very little ball movement and a whole lot of Roy Hibbert screens. This team doesn't move the ball well. A large part of that is Byron, but I'd love to see us implement some concept where we try to pass the ball 2-3 times before shooting it.
It'll be fine in a couple years when they can get any shot they want, but they've also got to learn how to let others get theirs too. Something we've criticized Julius about is his inability or unwillingness to pass the ball, but really he is following the example of these two guys. I don't know what it'll take for the three of them to trust each other and move the ball. Hopefully last night's game winner helps smooth things along.
The more I see, the more I think Clarkson is a 3rd guard off the bench in a three guard rotation. We need more of a spot up bomber like Klay Thompson to play next to a pg like Russell. Clarkson comes off the bench and gets big minutes, but we need 3 and D player at both the two and the three with a pg like Russell and a pf like Randle that has limited range.
