Well we sorta did hear from Nick, in one of the tweets I posted above. It was a screen capture of a tweet he had that he deleted not long after, probably being instructed to do so. Still remains a he said she said situation until we get more info, unless anyone else who saw it comes forward, or above all there's actual video of it. Shame, and again I hope it didn't happen as reported, because it's very disappointing if so, especially from 3 of our players, as that does appear to be Russ with them in the red hoodie.

I feel for the team's free agents JC and Nick, something like this will get them out of LA quick...

nick maybe, but I don't see JC going anywhere especially on what appears to be an accusation with little to no proof

So, let me gather the "facts" here:

    On one side:

    1. a bunch of young millionaires cut her off
    2. they then processed to verbally assault her elderly mother, lewdly

    On the other hand:

    1. she is an activists for women rights
    2. she works with athletes
    3. she has an standing negotiation with NBA
    4. she just happened to be in the vicinity of NBA athletes who also happened to behave in the exact same manner she works against

    5. she CLAIMED to not know who they were AND follows them on Twitter
    or
    5. she didn't know who they were AND followed them AFTER the incident

    EDIT....

and she was a contestant on Survivor (but may be I, who hates that show typecast...) :)

    Yeah.... not fishy at all.

    Also...

It does happen to women everywhere and it is an abomination.

HOWEVER, she absolutely DID want to crucify them, whether for a cause or for personal gain.

Otherwise she'd turn directly, not via Twitter or media, to the Lakers or have chosen other venue, one that is NOT known for its quick crucifixion trigger.

We're not in a court of law. You're attacking a woman's credibility. How many cases like this do we see? Many. How many are true? Many.

It's one thing to say we should wait to judge. It's another to say it's fishy. This is classic victim blaming. Impartiality requires that you don't do that.

    couple other things:

    1. if the source's story is true, and this was a case of mild road rage, involving an exchange of f yous and middle fingers, it will set the woman's cause back to the stone age. to me, the content of the speech and gestures matters a lot in terms of how I feel about the woman's motives. of course, we probably won't know that, ever.

    2. still, I refer to my earlier point. you're a conspicuous car full of recognizable pro athletes...how about we don't cut people off and scream at them in traffic? is it that hard? I'm certain this is the conversation that john black is having with them (and has probably already had with nick young several times).

    3. is that gilbert arenas they're hanging with? excellent. too bad the lakers couldn't have picked up a tayshaun prince in the offseason. relatedly, I'm guessing nick young's bought out this summer if he can't be dumped.

    4. you think kahwi leonard would be caught doing stupid stuff like this? even in position to be accused? in other words, I don't think this is a "hey, everyone does this" sort of thing. it's maybe not even as bad as Bynum flagrantly parking in handicapped spaces, but it's like that.

Sigh ..... no thoughts or comments without knowing more ..... except it's just not like the "old days" any more. Something like this more likely to be reported and blow up to notoriety when the Lakers were in the midst of their playoff battles. Thanks Boron.

Not even close. It isn't victim blaming to look at it as being fishy. This isn't some random girl. She is trying to get her book sold (on this very topic) and has tried to work with the NBA (on this very topic), then she just happens to have two NBA players who she claims not to know (that she follows on Twitter) make lewd comments to her and her 68 year old mother? You know, the EXACT behavior she just happens to be trying to make a name for herself at fighting against. And she claims to have video, but only releases still frames? No, dude. That's not "victim blaming" in the least bit. There's way too many extenuating circumstances to NOT say it's fishy. And saying it's "fishy" isn't victim blaming either. I'm not "blaming" her for anything, but when you look at what she is claiming and how it actually financially benefits her...it's fishy. If this is just some random girl who is an accountant or a real estate agent, I probably believe her. But she's not. this is where she is trying to make her living and it just happens to go down EXACTLY like she would need it to in order to get her on TV?

Her story has been corroborated by all the evidence so far. Other witnesses said the guys made gestures. What part do you think she fabricated? Did her desire to be in TV (that's awesome) make them cut her off? Did it not justify her flipping them off? Did it justify their other gestures?

No. Yes. Depends what the gestures are. Discuss.

What witnesses were there besides the two people in the cars? She says lewd gestures, they say retaliatory gestures. We don't even know if the cutting off/bird flipping story is true, it's just some person's story. I've yet to see any real, tangible evidence besides a picture of the guys in a Jeep laughing. That picture means literally nothing to me. They're not flipping her off, they're not making gestures, they're not doing anything negative really. It's just a picture.

Is it convenient for her that this happened right now? Yes. But stranger things have happened.
Is it convenient for them that she cut them off or cursed them out giving them excuse to respond? It certainly provides different context.

If the cutting off/bird flipping story is accurate then they all come off as immature idiots.

They are SAYING they cut her off, but that could be a matter of opinion. Did they actually cut her off, or was it they came over a little too fast for her liking and she just didn't want to let them in? Am I reading the answers you gave correctly? Yes, you think flipping people off is justified if someone cuts you off? I mean, I get cut off a lot (I live in So Cal) and I rarely flip someone off. If I flip someone off and they retort with any sort of gesture, it is probably justified since I started the exchange.

And the only witnesses that support her story are her mom and her. This is fishy. Not saying it didn't happen exactly how she said. But she says she has video yet only provides very innocuous photos of them smiling.

This is already getting national media attention and negative exposure across the national media. When you don't think this season can already get worse...

I was brought up with these words to live by. "If you can't say anything good about someone .... say it about Byron Scott". When you get right down to it .... someway ...somehow..... this is his fault too. Clean living and caring young minds affected in a negative way .... acting out in frustration :Magic Brows: after a season of putting up with his admitted BS and "wrong headed" (like everything else) mind games he constantly tried to control them and break them down with. Wanted to see how they reacted. This is what you get .... made them nuts instead ....temporary insanity defense. I think in fact :Shaqwink: there are grounds for a huge civil case to be filed against Boron himself and reason for the FO to have to fire him. Where's Gloria??

Actually I disagree with Gilbert on what constitutes harassment at a stoplight. If this lady didn't want to be hit on and was hit on, then that's harassment whether he likes it or not. Typically that can be solved with an apology or by not doing it in the first place.

Still though, her trying to squash this thing tells me maybe she blew a little out of proportion. If she was as righteously offended as she made it out in the first place, then why settle up so quickly?

Taking away her job and all that, what I see here is a case of road rage. They each treated each other disrespectfully, they probably say something inappropriate, she takes out a camera and posts online about how they're dogs. She probably didn't even realize how quickly this would blow up.

Oh well. Short news and it'll go away in a week.

Yeah. Sure. Now I'm really calling BS. Let's have a conversation...that will garner national attention. And I gotta disagree Real on Gilbert being wrong. Like Agent Zero said (what have we come to when I'm quoting Arenas), if they asked for a sexual favor, then yes, it's sexual harassment. Hitting on a girl could be harassment, but not sexual. I mean, if a girl walks up to a cop and tells him, "Those guys asked me out. I don't want to go out with them. Arrest them." Is the cop going to arrest them? I mean, if asking a girl out is sexual harassment, proms and winter formals will be pretty damn boring.
