He needs to be a defender, not an offensive weapon. Offensively we just need Wes to make the open three when the ball gets to him or a slasher like Ariza was. We need him as a defensive stopper to guard the wing stars that Kobe can't guard.

It would never happen but I'd love it if John Ireland or Mike Trudell would have gone up to Wesley after last night's game and asked, "So, I thought we were going to see a new Wes?"

So the new AGGRESSIVE Wes means 5 points on 33% shooting and 3 rebounds in 35 minutes? Great job Wes. Just great. So aggressive. He's basically hopeless. He's still young so I try not to throw in the towel completely with him. But really . . . just sad.

The problem with Wes is that he's not contributing anything out there. A few corner 3s a game? Sure, Ellington can do that and more. Wes is not a factor on offense, he doesn't generate shots, rebound, is a non factor on defense. So what exactly is he out there for?

Completely agree with you Ras. He gives us nothing. Big fat zero. And this has been going on now for basically all preseason and the 6 regular season games. I keep waiting for any sign of a breakout. Heck any sign of brain activity at all. He's a zero impact player. Argh! I don't get why he is logging so many minutes out there. No dividends.

How are you going to get him involved, when he has no offensive skill and no BB IQ?

Wes isn't a serviceable NBA player and never will be .... unless he seriously got teached fundamentals on both ends off the floor

Ugh, I hate to contribute to this damn thread lol. BUT, when I watched the last game he didnt do a bad job on D, getting some deflections. Didnt see him make any TO's,didnt take any stupid shots?... I can see him just like along of some of the other players, needing to keep getting more comfortable with our scheme.

Wes has nothing between the ears. He is an anomaly - time and familiarity do nothing to improve his game and/or contributions. Give the minutes to someone else - when does swaggy get back?

Ive been saying all effing year to start Young. But once again the guy only makes one mill a year, last time I checked who drafted him high? Thats right, the Twolves. I dunno why yall are so disappointed in him and quite honestly, the jokes have really gotten old.

I'm more frustrated with how we use him and the things that are said about him (e.g., "We need to get him involved on offense."). Not everyone's a star; he's a second unit D&3 guy who isn't good at either. I don't fault him for being that; I fault him for pretending he's more - and never bringing it.

Well unfortunately @trodgers, not every staff utilizes their players by putting them in the best possible situation to succeed. Great, so hes a talker. Once again, its not like we got burned on a draft pick or gave him a big contract. Let it go, we have no other true SFs, its pretty much what it comes down upon the fact the reason on why hes starting for us UNLESS when Young comes back... Scott realizes hell sacrifice some bench scoring in order to get a weak link out of the lineup. Odds are possibly good with Ellington slightly emerging,Davis and Kelly hopefully coming back into action soon.

But you're saying we shouldn't complain about mismanagement - even when it's seriously detrimental to the team. I can't accept that. That's exactly what fans should do. I'm not suggesting we threaten his family or anything; I'm saying it's appropriate to complain precisely because management's view of him and his own apparent assessment of himself are detrimental to the team. That's as clear cut a case as one gets in organized sports.

God what is wrong with this guy? He was fine in the first half, taking shots that were in the offense and hitting them. Second half he starts jacking up shots out of the offense, trying to be aggressive..ruining any momentum we had as always.
