Most of the NBA players can do this in practice . These videos are way overhyped imo

What he's doing during NBA games though ... A whole different story

I remember in an all star weekend 7 or so years ago, Rondo, who can't hit the broadside of a barn in a game made multiple 3's in a row. These guys are pros, they can hit 40 footers if there's no one around them.

What Steph did is a little different from simple silliness like Rondo and Howard. Curry is the only person since Kobe that I think could confidently pull up from that spot on the floor and knock down that shot in a game.

No, most nba players can't shoot in practice from that distance with his accuracy.

Request to rename this thread to the official steph curry thread? we need one of those.

Last season he broke the record for most 3's made in a season with 286 in 80 games played. He's made 240 in 49 games played this year. The warriors are currently 48-4, so they have another 30 games to go. If steph plays in every game from now on, at the rate he's going, he's going to have made 386 threes. Yeah.

    Done.

Also, on a related note, Warriors started 24-0. They since went 24-4. They need to go 24-6 the rest of the way to tie the Bulls record.

Stephen Curry might be the first player to join the 50/40/90 club while averaging over 30 ppg.

Before this, Bird was the closest at 29.9 ppg. Next is Durant at 28.1 ppg.

Curry is stunningly good. I'm all on board the growing agreement that he is the best shooter ever.

But people need to hit the brakes on the best player ever hype. Until he starts playing some lockdown D and wins a few more rings that talk needs to stop.

Not sure he'd make my top 20 right now. It could all end today. His resume is far from complete.

Yeah I'd say he's easily the most fun player to watch offensively since Kobe, but All-Time? Let's chill out for a second. Kobe, Jordan, Wilt, Shaq, Kareem, etc etc were comparably explosive offensively while also playing great defense.

Curry will never be an on-ball lockdown defender. He does not have the physique that Jordan or the early Bryant has. What I find remarkable about his shooting is that he does it off the dribble. Doesn't need a phalanx of screens to do his damage... Even if a defender crowds Curry, he has the ball handling ability to separate himself for enough space to launch a shot. Perfect shooting mechanics, solid follow through and more importantly confidence are key aspects of his game.

Curry also has the touch on drives to loft it over shot blockers and is deceptively quick. He is too slight of frame to go down on the block for post ups. What I do find impressive with Curry is that he is also a deft passer with very good court vision. Such a smooth player. I agree with TIME that Curry is not a two way player like the greats mentioned are but in all my seasons of watching NBA ball, I've never come across anyone who has lit it up from the perimeter like he has.

I do think about how Curry would have fared against the 1980's and early 1990's defensive rules when hand checking along with the bumping was the norm.
