Glad JJ rejected Cleveland. Miami is a good fit. But with the Bosh issue lingering they're not a threat.

Houston seems like a mess. Good for Marcus to get out.

Hopefully he goes to Detroit. :D

JJ to Miami is interesting, but without Bosh, it's hard for them to make some noise in the playoffs.

    Side note:
Were there a lot of buyouts in the past and then so and so joining with playoff teams? Or has that been a new development, different CBA and all that noise.

Very glad to see Joe Johnson not go to the Cavs, they don't need more help. And while I don't think he makes Miami great or anything, I think he at least makes them better, and any extra competition in the East playoffs is good. Cleveland can't keep walking into the Finals so easily. If they face Miami, maybe they can at least win a couple games.

Solid, I'm liking these east teams getting any help at all, conference is too weak. Though I don't know how Atlanta already isn't better than they are, they have a pretty dang solid roster and should be more than 5 games above .500.

    raptors waive bennett

i think that's the last we'll see of him. safe to say he'll go down as the biggest bust in NBA history? i'd say so

I can't think of a worse #1 pick off the top of my head, but in the context of the full draft I don't know if he's the biggest bust ever. That was a weak draft, there isn't a star in the whole bunch after Bennett. In the context of their draft I can't think anyone worse than Darko, and Hasheem Thabeet. Olowokandi is really bad too considering that's a draft with Vince Carter, Paul Pierce, Dirk, and a couple other notables.

Not the strongest draft but a lot of the players drafted are somewhat decent role players now. Cavs screwed up though picking Bennet first.

even thabeet wasn't waived that early, right? Kwame--and even darko-had mildly productive, near decade-long careers. same with olowokandi. Bennett and thabeet are the biggest busts I can think of in my draft-watching time. thabeet you could see coming a mile away, and Bennett was an odd choice even at the time. if you were involved in those choices, it should be a black mark on your management career, imo.

i really don't know what the cavs were thinking picking bennett #1

i remember he was projected to go top 10 but no one expected him to go 1st overall. watching him you immediately get the sense that he just does not belong in the NBA

brown, milicic, olowokandi were all busts but they still managed to stick around for a while. bennett is done in all likelihood

I think Udrih is a very solid backup PG, but he's 33, he's on the downside. Miami only cut him though because they have to make room for Joe Johnson and mainly I'd say because he got injured and is out for the rest of the season. If he wasn't hurt, he stays, he's valuable to them without Dragic.

I think in terms of #1 pick he's probably the worst ever. But as far as busts go, I have to look at who was passed on too. The 2013 draft was OK, but there are no real stars, nobody I would kick myself over not drafting. In the 2009 draft Thabeet was taken 2nd, Memphis passed on James Harden, Steph Curry, and DeMar DeRozan, all-stars, one all-time great. And even if Darko had a fair career, Detroit passed on Melo, Wade, and Bosh. That's painful to say, and I don't like the Pistons. Yeah, Bennett sucks, but you missed out on Oladipo, Noel, Carter-Williams, meh.
