Didn't watch the game. Was there a logical reason why Huertas and Kelly got Russell and Randle's minutes?

It was a blow out when Scott put them in. We made a run so the score looks closer then it was.

No we were really blown out and Russell/Randle didn't look like they came ready to play.

That is true for basically the entire team outside of Clarkson and Bass.

It sure is rough watching these passionless games.. sure winning constantly and competing for championships is asking too much but I'd love to at least sniff the playoffs again.

I sure hope a coaching change comes.. sooner than later. There's no way we pick up any decent FA's without it..

If this season has been a revelation of anything, it's that Byron Scott truly has no offensive or defensive systems to speak of in his coaching repertoire, and quite frankly, may never have.

So often in the past there had been mention of all the great PGs he had mentored, from Kidd to CP3 to Kyrie. Yet in the two destinations he had any sort of success (NJ and NO), it's been pretty clear that two veteran generational point guards carried and orchestrated what otherwise would have been nonexistent offenses under Byron.

The writing now isn't just on the wall, it's all over the house. Jeanie needs to pull the plug on him as soon as season's end hits, and not a moment later.

Unbelievable pro-Scott article by Dylan Hernandez latimes.com who has the nerve to say, and I quote, "the Lakers won't be contending for a championship again next year, no matter how much they can spend on free agents this off-season. In that case, why fire the coach?"

This is his actual argument for keeping Scott. That + he claims Clarkson and Randle both developed nicely under Scott so we should give him the benefit of the doubt. Clarkson has developed well despite Scott, and Scott likes guards that go iso a lot so he doesn't have to think. But Randle? Developed nicely? Scott has had NOTHING to do with Randle's development. Granted the kid has a ways to go but I haven't seen ANY catering to his game either.

I've been anti-tank all season but as we get closer to April and there are less and less games to be played, I hate to say it but tank mode is looking more like an option unless Scott goes NOW. Not this summer.

Byron's last ditch chance to save his job is over. 24 games is a lot, the kids could get incredible experience from it if Scott were removed now. Otherwise, continue the Kobe Fest and tank. At this point that's certainly the likely option.

For whatever the reason, the FO is trying it's darnedest to deflect criticism of Byron.

I'm hoping it's because they want to be able to negotiate the next coaching contract from a position of strength or they're trying to make us more appealing to FA's.

But part of me believes that the FO is blind to how bad Byron is. They simply won't admit it to themselves, much less anybody else.

I don't think Jeanie is trying to deflect for Byron really. She was pretty critical of the basketball side in that Amick interview.

When I'm talking about the FO, I'm talking about the basketball side. This LA times article, John Ireland, and Max and Marcellus seem intent on defending Byron. Only the national shows and writers (Woj) seem to criticizing Byron quite a bit.

IMO if the FO is defending Byron to improve their negotiating position for FA's and coaches this summer, then they need to tell Jeanie about it. She doesn't appear to be in the loop at all.

She's absolutely not. Did you check out the Amick piece from a few days ago? She said she's had maybe 3 conversations with Byron since he got hired. Three conversations in 2 years? How is that possible? I know her father wouldn't stand for this ****. Her father would have been in Byron's face, the players' faces, and definitely Mitch and Jim's faces. It's incredible the divided stupidity we're seeing from the Buss kids.

What we would see with Jerry is, he would show up to a practice and then you knew all hell was gonna break loose if there wasn't immediate change. Or change would happen due to Jerry. JIm has no such presence.

The scary thing is Jeanie seems intent on giving Jim until 2016-2017. That's why I think Byron returning is a very real possibility. AM 570 rips Scott on every one of their shows...like the rest of the ENTIRE COUNTRY. ESPN (the Lakers' station) washes his balls. The disparity between the two stations here in Los Angeles makes it PAINFULLY obvious that ESPN radio is getting marching orders from the Lakers' front office. Especially John Ireland. I used to really like the guy, but he is an absolute shill and mouthpiece for the Lakers at this point. Thompson and Trudell is a joke of a show. Mason tries to fight the good fight, but gets run over by Ireland and the carefully selected callers that are either the dumbest Laker fans ever, or Laker employees pretending to be fans. I'm just waiting to hear Mitch's cadence on the phone saying, "Hi. I'm Mitc...err...Superfly Jimmy Snuka. I like what the Lakers are building. Scott is teaching the players discipline. If I ever died, I'd want Scott to step in and be the father figure for my children."

I used to listen to ESPN710 everytime I got in the car, I like to keep up with my LA sport teams. (Can't stand Cowturd on 570). But now I'm just listening to audio books or podcasts.

Thompson and Trudell talk about random stuff half the time, Ireland is a Laker mouthpiece, Ramona sometimes have good segments but they are rare, Mason and Katz are the only ones really worth listening to but all their ideas get swept aside by any of the main Laker guys. Oh and the callers are the worse, so stupid how selective they are. Almost all of the ones they use are in support of this monstrosity and the ones that are against have the dumbest arguments.

I don't mind listening to Ireland. It gives me an idea of where the Lakers FO is and while we might not like what we hear, it's important information to have.

Writers like this annoy me. "This roster sucks. Who cares? They aren't winning anyway."

Are you f***ing stupid? Everyone knows the roster isn't that good. That's completely beside the point. The point is this team should at least be competive in games and they're not. The point is the coach should at least instill some winning habits like moving the ball and playing good, solid team defense. The coach should at least be playing the young kids who at this point are the best players on the roster. What a f***ing joke.

Larry Coon has an account on LG; he posts there at times. In his own words he is 'certain' that Byron won't be here next season. He said there he actually had lunch with a prospective coach that the Lakers might possibly hire this summer. (didn't say who). Link is below; post is second to last on the page.
