http://nba.nbcsports.com/2016/02/15...ketballtalk,sport – nba, content - text-based] Dwight Howard, the Rockets told him last week he could be traded before the deadline. Dwight, if he’s moved, would like to go to Atlanta, maybe Miami LOL Good luck with that
Someone during the broadcast yesterday said that there will be a major trade this week... It could be SuperClown on his way out of Houston.
I don't get it. For someone who wants out of Shaq's shadow, although I think his s***ty play is doing enough to separate the two, why is he making all the stops on a Shaq's career tour? Orlando, LA, Miami. Which will be next Phoenix or Boston? Also, stay the f*** out of Atlanta. Please and thank you
Miami seems fine to me. Dwight for a package involving Whiteside, who probably leaves anyway. Miami gets rid of current attitude problem guy, brings in a guy that will have only have an attitude problem later on when things don't go his way. Hell, maybe he helps them against Cleveland, I wouldn't mind seeing them take out the Cavs, Dwight has done it before. But then again Dwight makes 22 mil, Whiteside makes under 1 mil, maybe attitude can be overlooked.
all the rumors seem to involve Atlanta moving horford and Teague for howard. um, why? horford's almost as valuable (if not more) has a lower max, and is lower mileage. Teague's still on a really friendly contract, too, right? just seems a bit crazy to me. it would also be something of an admission that their overall theory (spacing all over) isn't working out.
If that ATL deal is true, damn, hou should push it and never look back. Why the F didn't we trade that sorry a** is still beyond me!
Us begging him was definitely a top 5 low moment in our history. I knew he was REALLY immature when Kobe tried to teach him and he wouldn't listen. Notice that when Kobe talks to the Hall of Famers, he's all ears, soaking it up. Dwight knows better. What could Kobe possibly teach him about getting rings?
I still have to tell myself from time to time that us trading Dwight for Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes was a total BS rumor to feel ok about letting him walk for nothing. I choose to believe it was never offered, I will live in that denial, because if it was and we said no our FO are morons. And not to call anyone from the CL days morons, but some of them thought that was a bad deal for us too since Klay and Barnes were just decent role players at best.
Yeah... We'd be so set, it wouldn't be funny. Russell/JC Klay/JC Barnes Randle Droooooool Then again - we wouldn't probably draft either of Russell/JC/Randle, since in this scenario Kobe probably doesn't blow his Achilles, as he has 2 very competent backups in Klay/Barnes and we wouldn't draft #7 or #2.
If Houston and ATL do a deal that has Howard going to ATL for Horford and Teague...I would assume that the Rockets would also give some combination of young players and picks...probably Terrence Jones goes in this deal as well...and probably a first round pick or two. There's no way the Hawks take JUST Howard who could leave them in the summer anyways....Teague was an all star PG last year so he can fetch some decent value on the open market and Horford is an all star big man...they would instantly make the Rockets a better team. I could also see Howard going to Miami, and Miami really should make that gamble. They would have to give up Whiteside, Deng, Chris Anderson and probably Udonis Haslem? Howard Bosh (blood clots withstanding) Winslow Wade Dragic I'm not sure that team can beat Cleveland though....Howard would need to go 2009 on em. But I think its about as good as the Rockets can do for Howard..... I don't think Boston is as crazy about Howard as people are making them out to be...they won't give up assets for Howard....their management, unlike ours, are too smart for that. They also don't NEED Howard....they're doing just fine without him.
...come to think of it, IF any group can straighten out Howard and re-focus him, it could the trio of Riley, Wade and Bosh. He would also be on familiar territory too. Spoelstra is also a very good coach.
I honestly can't remember my thoughts about moving howard...but I think I was pro-trading him when he wouldn't commit. and I would have taken pretty much anything of use rather than be caught holding the bag like the lakers were. anyway, I think it's funny that Houston is already looking to move him, simply because they don't want to deal with the possibility of him walking (although I really think morey knows someone will bid high enough to ruin his other FA plans). I can't think of who would give up something of great value for howard given his huge cap hold/max. in the past, you'd look at some capped-out team, but that's really only Cleveland now, right? i'll be mildly surprised if howard moves. if he does, it means morey REALLY values his summer flexibility. we did see him let parsons walk for similar reasons, but only to sign ariza and brewer for even more money in his place. I think he probably learned from that regarding birds in the hand.
