I think George is a bit over-rated. He's good but not a superstar by any stretch. Despite all the praise he's getting this season he's only shooting 41%.

As good as Anthony Davis is he is always injured. It seems like every other game he is knicked up. I'd rather try and acquire someone who can actually stay on the court.

That's my concern. When he's healthy, he's ridiculous, but he's injured a lot.

While I agree with pretty much everything said, I wonder what we sound like to non-Laker fans. We're hesitating to trade D'Angelo Russell for Anthony Davis?? The rational side of me says that's just super silly.

The Laker fan side of me is like "that dude is gonna come here and miss 42 games a year!"

I love Paul George for this team. I think that's just an awesome fit. Unfortunately I think that he's a great fit NEXT to Russell... My Russell trade list would be something like:

Curry, Davis, Westbrook, and George. If Durant wasn't an impending FA then him too. LeBron possibly, but I'm a little worried about his production falling off the deep end in a season or two. Karl-Anthony Towns possibly but (and I'm not just saying this) his knees still scare me a bit. His biomechanics are 100% better today than they were in college, but until he puts some meat on I'm worried. Same could be said for Russell I guess though.

Yeah it's unfortunate. Davis has the potential to be the best player in the game if he could stay on the court.

I don't think it's sounds silly at all. No one questions Davis talent, but he is always hurt. What good is all the that talent and potential if he can't stay on the court? To trade a great young piece like Russell for someone who hasn't shown he can stay healthy well I think that would be silly.

Anthony Davis has the potential to be, and is at times right now, the best player in the game. Does Russell have that talent? Maybe, but to be honest I don't think so. That's not a knock on him, that kind of talent is staggering and Russell has the potential to be REALLY good. Russell I think could be the best PG in the game if he develops properly. However, Davis does things no one else can do.

Would it be a risk? Definitely. That doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. Signing Durant this summer is a big injury risk given his foot and the complications he's had on it, but we better damn well do it if we can.

I'm not disagreeing at all that it'd be a risk, but if New Orleans called us up and said," Hey we'll give you Anthony Davis for D'Angelo Russell right now", would you honestly say no?

From what I've seen from Russell I definitely think he has that potential. I saw a stat earlier that says the only other 19 year old to average what he is per 36 minutes is LeBron James. That's impressive and we know he still has so much room to grow. He's already proven multiple times during the season he can take over games and close them effectively. His court vision is about as good as one could expect from a rookie point guard and even though he he struggled defensively at times he has done a good job using his size and length to cause opposing guards issues. He's clearly getting more acclimated to the NBA game and better by each month. I think he's a superstar in the making. Davis already is obviously, but I just have a hard time trading someone with D'Angelo's level of talent and skill for a guy who can't stay on the court. If he could it would be a no brainer. Unfortunately he can't at least not right now.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree to disagree. I love what I've seen from Russell, but if you have a chance to get Anthony Davis you take it and run like a madman.

:rofl::rofl: Guys...this is silly. I like Russell a lot. But I'd trade him, Randle AND Clarkson for The Brow and take my chances with his injuries. The dude is RIDICULOUS. And let's be honest, Anthony Davis + two max slots this offseason? If Durant leaves, he's coming here without even talking to other teams and probably bringing someone else like Derozen with him. It's Anthony F---ing Davis!

We sound insane...certifiably insane. Outside of Golden State, every team in the league would blow up their squad (that includes Cleveland) to get him. Because of the age discrepancies, Cleveland might even trade Lebron for him.

I get that. I wouldn't be unhappy if we picked up AD.

C'mon. We don't even know for sure if Russell will ever make an all-star team. I'd trade him for KD, Curry, Westbrook, Davis, Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Drummond, Harden, Jimmy Butler...that's just off the top of my head. And I think Russell will be a star. But those guys ARE stars and will make our two max slots 5 times more attractive this offseason.

This. Trade D'BUST or DeBust for a true point guard. It's the new NBA, get as small as possible, and lil shrimp Barea is the key. I wonder what Mugsy Bogues is doing these days.

That's cool. I'd trade anyone else on our team for most of those guys. Some of those guys I don't want anywhere near this team (Harden, at least). And some of those guys I'd be happy to move Randle and Clarkson for. Just not DA. He's the #2 pick, he's 19, and he's putting up historically good numbers at his age. He's a special player, too.

Same here with the exception of Drummond because he sucks at FTs. I'd trade him for KAT as well.
