Well I don't see why all or at least most of the players in the league have not adopted the Steph Curry velcro high ankle strap supports. Sure as f*** hasn't limited his mobility and we all remember how many really bad ankle sprains he had in his first couple or more of years. I look at closeups sometimes of the players shoes and they don't even seem laced that tight and certainly not up high. These guys are stepping out of them all the time. I don't think you would with the straps. Oh and now Curry is a superstar from being able to play a whole bunch more without injury and perfect his art/craft in basketball.

Hey, lighten up on the pain. Moderate sprains are no joke. Sprains micro tear or (worse?) stuff at least some level of a bit, don't they? He did try to man up and was bouncing on it and went back in. Glad he was smart enough to get out when it wasn't happening with the pain and feedback. Why jeopardize the rest of his already detoured by the clown Boron rookie season.

I have torn ligaments in my left ankle so I'm deeply familiar with pain and I do understand that there's a difference in pain tolerance for everyone, but the kid was lying limp on the floor for quite a while. He's only 19 so I'm sure he's prone to exaggeration, but I'm not going to lay off of him because he's young. Clarkson was playing on two twisted ankles earlier this year. Nance twisted an ankle and came back in. Neither were limp on the floor. Heck Julius at the same age broke a bone in his leg while playing and reacted much more reasonably.

I'm not hating on the kid, just saying: he's going to go through worse pain than that. He looked like he got shot.

They don't lace their shoes tight because the have their ankles heavily taped anyways. If you're about to twist your ankle, you will. No matter how well "prepared" you think you are ;).

Well he did push off on it after he twisted it and maybe it's the worst sprain he's ever had and it felt like it broke. Whatever. This is so insignificant since it was a pretty bad sprain. He bounced and tried to make a go. How does he know it really isn't worse than what they finally found. I don't want to debate on it just saying.

Is it so terrible to want the kid to be tougher? :D

I don't understand the discussion at this point. Sure, it's entirely possible that he thought he really hurt himself and was overreacting to it. That's not just possible, it's likely.

My point is that he's a kid and those kinds of things will happen to him. A lot. The next time he twists and tweaks an ankle, I hope he doesn't lie on the floor like he was just run over by a steamroller.

Steph Curry's first couple seasons was always held back to ankle issues and a lack of strength to hold off stronger guards. He's certainly developed into a stronger player and utilizes his skills to mask those deficiencies.

I understand DRuss was the 2nd pick, but all we need to do is give this kid a couple seasons and I think we'll have a superstar on our hands.

I completely agree. I love the kid, but I feel like I've noticed him exaggerate slight injuries like that before too. And then he just missed a game due to a sore throat. I'm not trying to talk crap. It's just kinda funny to me. I'm sure Kobe will rub off on him and he'll be tougher going forward.

Russell was terrified fearing the worst and not knowing. At least he did not have to use a wheelchair...

Maybe if he gets the call on that play, he doesn't stay that long on the floor.

I don't get what the big deal is. D'Angelo was probably just scared that it was a broken ankle or some serious injury. I don't think he's just trying to be a drama queen or something like that. It just comes from being young and inexperienced and probably not having suffered many ankle injuries before.

Seeing the way Russ, Clarkson and Randle led us back last night made the past 2-3 years worth it. Russ showed why he has the potential to be the best player from that draft class last night.

I've had a vision. D'angelo Russell has been sent to the Lakers from the basketball gods, as he is the chosen one. He will be the greatest of all time. The true showtime guard we always needed. He will have Kobe's killer instinct and scoring ability, combined with Magic's jovial demeanor and leadership. He will bring balance to the Force.

D'Angelo isn't tough enough. That's true. He needs to get into street fights, act belligerent, and yell 'we got money.' :)

His coach barely has anything nice to say, and him being hurt and hamming it up is just a young man's way of drawing some attention to see how valuable he is to everybody.

Now that you know we love you and value you, it's time to man up a little bit. The way he went down in a heap, I thought maybe his sore throat flared up or the maybe he lost a contact lens or something

Sorry, but after he was out due to a sore throat, he set himself up for jokes about pulling A vagina muscle, etc.

We have all been a bit spoiled by one of the most durable and toughest players to ever play in the NBA, and especially through injuries of all sorts.

But I also freely admit that if I'm injured or sick, I have a history of working that for all of the female attention and care I can get LOL

But I'm not a millionaire athlete paid to perform on the biggest stage. I exercise my right to expect a double standard!
