I think it's hard for anyone to take over with the lineups we throw out there. There isn't room or opportunity. That, and I think if he tried to take over too much and it didn't work, he'd get yanked pretty quick. We have seen him do it in stretches though, he can get rolling, and he can score in bunches. I do blame the system, and the coach, and bad lineups he's out there with. A little easier for him to take over with a real PG next to him too, I think he and Russ are starting to gel a little when playing together for example.
Well after what Boron just said about Black (not mean enough) ..... it's about time for Clarkson to have the bench do some talking to his butt.
It's alright, Rondo is one of the smartest PG defenders in the league, he's an old-school type smart defender. Before that he was absolutely attacking the hoop, he was a huge part of that run, I was thrilled with his 2nd half play after a bad 1st half.
He was great. He just needs to get a game winner basket for his confidence. Puts his head down too much when things don't go his way. He will get there.
None of our young 4 get any respect, none of them. Nance is always looking at the refs in disbelief at weak calls these days. Randle is getting all charging calls, even when he went sideways and Cousins slid under him. Russ and JC don't get a lot of calls either, I guess it's true you don't get respect from the refs when you're a rookie or younger player, which is really stupid.
Clarkson got fouled multiple times with no call. I think russ got fouled when he got hurt. I thought the charge call on randle was the right call.
Rookies/sophomores don't get calls .. and if you are on a very bad team ? It gets worse... JC didn't get the lucky bounce on his drive before the Rondo shot ... would have been up by 3 ... too bad
Wiggins is shooting tons of FT's. The only reason he's even a halfway decent scorer. It seems that you don't get calls if you're a younger player /on the Lakers/.
Good learning experience for JC down the stretch. You have to have disappointments like that so that you don't make those mistakes later. Good stuff tonight.
Hit big shots when it mattered, made turnovers when it mattered. Both were equally valuable experiences for him.
He's hit clutch shots before for us, so it's not new territory for him. It did seem like he froze up a little bit though. That was a big moment and a big game for the young guys. The more opportunities they get like that, the better they'll be in the future.
I thought the charge call was correct as well...at first. But the replay of the camera on top of the basket clearly shows Cousins sliding his feet over at the last instance which means it should have been a block. Its a bang bang play I understand but that play was huge for multiple reasons and the refs missed it. I thought the JC drive was a foul as well
To add on to this, I'm just glad you could see how dejected he was on his face and actions. It shows he cares. Obviously you want a person to shake it off and move on to the next play quickly but I liked all the frustration he was showing. He'll grow from this and it will only make him better.
