I also didn't like anything Huertas did in that 4th quarter. It wasn't just Julius ignoring him, the whole team did. Huertas was trying to call plays when Russell should have been the one controlling the ball. The team knew that and so they didn't respond to him.

I don't hate Huertas as much as the rest of LB, but I also think he's a poor fit with this team. If we're bringing Russell off the bench, he needs to be the play caller. In that 4th quarter last night Huertas was trying to be the man, but nobody wanted to listen to him. Then he got stubborn just as much as everyone else.

Here is my problem with this....

1.) I didn't see him NOT being a team a player last night. He wasn't ball hogging, wasn't putting himself above others, he WAS cheering his teammates from the bench all game, he was dishing the rock to teammates with 3 assists, he was trying to get extra possession with his 12 boards in 16 frickin' minutes. He was pissed because he got 16 minutes in a game where it was a blowout and he got yanked during his minimal run in the second half. Byron messed with the rotations, IMO, because he wanted to get the starters their full minutes, the 2nd unit a lot of run in the 4th and scrubs in the last 2-3 minutes. That back fired because he's an idiot and left the starters in too long and messed with the rhythm of the game.

2.) Randle among others (DAR) are fed up with Byron's b******* and the outbursts are starting to come out. He called him an a**hole, DAR making comments, and now this. They are frustrated from getting yanked during a good game for them, yanked when they make a mistake and for no reason given. Randle is better than 16 minutes a game, that's absolutely asinine and would piss me off too in his position.

You want to criticize Randle fine, but the same should go for anyone on the team and that is definitely not the case.

To be fair, Byron is not wrong about Julius's defensive lapses:

It'd be fair if he was the only one making defensive mistakes on a team full of defensive studs, but when we are a team ranked dead last in defensive efficiency, to single one guy out for it, chastise him in front of the team and media and bench him is extremely stupid.

Sure did. I've seen every player who has gotten consistent minutes miss rotations, get lazy, not run back in transition. Julius has been among those; however, this problem has been going on for weeks, and Julius felt 'singled out' when he hasn't seen player held consistently accountable for the entire year. Then, all of a sudden, Byron decides to get on him. Fine. Just be consistent about it. However, he won't, and he picks and chooses who he decides to get on; he's done that everywhere he goes.

By the way, chief among our problems isn't Julius giving effort on defense. It's our antiquated scheme that we run that has us ranked 30th in defensive efficiency. Byron won't accept any responsibility for that, though, right?

Totally agreed. It was an incredibly tactless move that just continues his unbelievably awful coaching.

Everyone in the NBA knows it. I have no idea how Byron still has this job.

yeah, gotta hold julius accountable, but it's hard when you can't hold kobe accountable for the same stuff.

Why are you mad at Byron in this case? He is doing us a favour for future Randle. Now the seed will be in Randle's mind about defence, and Byron will not be here next season to see that happens. Everybody is happy.

I don't mind Randle being censured for his defense, even being singled out - privately.

I'm all for Randle and anyone on the team getting lectured and educated on their mistakes, it will help them grow as players. But when it seems Randle, DAR and Young are the only ones that consistently get picked at on a team that is consistently making mistakes 1-15 it's unacceptable. If Byron was doing this with everyone, I'd be on his side in this situation but he's not. That's very poor coaching and creates an unnecessary why me, not them attitude for these young guys.

Who cares the season is lost. The more Byron makes those players hell the more they will get stronger mentally and the more they will appreciate our next coach. If they want it ir not. It's bad coaching, but im already thinking about next season.

    "He called him an a**hole"

Yes. I admit it. I've been frustrated and calling Scott that for a couple of weeks now here. Seeing what he has done to this team it's my right as a fan.

    :Tabarnak:

Wait .... what?? Who on the team called whom on the team an a**hole??
