Had the bench celebration highlight of the night. A pretty nice and-1 play on a dish from Kobe too.

Lol, see, there's that Russell face I was talking about in game time. And Nance with the.. shimmy? Love Hibbert there too, that had to be an MJ reference, right?

I'm looking at advanced stats from last year and this year comparing Hibbert from year to year to see if there has been any regression or progression in his game. Grant it, I know the system or lack thereof hasn't been great, but Hibbert has been underwhelming, IMO. Either way, I'm trying to dig into the stats to give me more of an indication of the pattern I'm witnessing to his mediocre play this year.

2015 (when he was with Indiana) Offense. First number is possessions second number is PPP (points per possession)

    Post-Up
Hibbert 418, 0.86 ppp (middle of the pack)

    Roll Man
    120, 0.81 ppp (very poor)

    Putbacks
89, 0.98 ppp (fourth to last)

    Cut
102, 1.12 ppp (middle of the pack)

    Spot-Up
    63 1.05 ppp (excellent)

    Isolation
    25, 0.32 ppp (poor)

    Transition
    17, 1.00 (fourth to last)

    2016 with Lakers

    Post up

    79, 0.58 (poor)

    Roll Man
48 possessions, 0.98 (middle of the pack)

    Cut
    35, 1.21 ppp

    Spot-Up
    15, 0.67

    Isolation
    7, 0.86

    Transition
    10, 1.00 ppp

Limited sample size through this year; I'd kill for a more mobile, better PNR finisher this next year, though. @trodgers has me on that Biyombo train; he might give you some of the best bang for your buck.

Hibbert is gone after this season unless he takes a STEEP paycut. I'm not going to say he's been a disappointment, because he is obviously not the player he was three years ago. He showed that the last couple years and he's continuing to show it this year. I mean, when he shoots the ball it reminds me of the catapults in Lord of the Rings when they hurled blocks of concrete. I agree that Biyombo would be a nice center, but I think the FO will try to get Horford along with a veteran with our pick (if we keep it and it's not #1) in order to entice Durant. If we get the #1 pick, I'm not sure we even make a serious run at Durant as we'd have 4 dudes in their first 4 years in the league. We'd probably just go to war with them and hope the gel into a super team.

He looks OK; nothing spectacular, but not bad either. I'm not sure if he fits well with these young guys. Although I'd probably sign him is he is willing to come back cheap. Like, very, very cheap.

He's been asked not to focus on offense by our head coach. Only focus on defense. He's giving us what he's being asked to do, although I wish his rebounding were higher.

Kind of. But he's making enough where he shouldn't be HORRIFIC on offense. The dude has been playing ball his whole life and it looks like he is just now learning to shoot a ball. :D

Hibbert = bigger, less coordinated Kwame. I don't want him back unless it's for backup center, paid accordingly.

For a self-proclaimed gamer, he needs to work more on his hand-eye coordination. Has really bad hands for a big...on the outskirts of Kwame territory.

I agree that a person making $16 million should be encouraged to do more than just rebound and block shots. Unfortunately, I'm not the coach.

You have to remember that Roy is a 2-time all-star. He can score. He's not being asked to.

He is very limited in post moves. His jumper is nice, but if he isn't jump shooting or slamming, he looks pretty Dwight Howardesque around the basket. I better coach would hide his weaknesses better, but I don't believe for a minute he's even average at creating his own opportunities.

His offensive game isn't great. A step below Gasol, Odom, and Bynum's offensive repertoire. But it's not as bad as it looks lately. This guy averaged 22ppg in a playoff series against Miami 3 seasons ago. Kwame couldn't do that against the Washington Generals. He hasn't suffered any serious injuries since then, so I believe he's still capable, especially if we sign a better coach and a very good wing player in the offseason to draw the defense out of the paint like Paul George did in Indiana.
