Someone with the Lakers said that Larry Nance Sr. stopped by the facilities the other day and was telling everyone that his son has a lot more offense than he's shown so far.

It seems he was right and it seems we're seeing some of the evidence right now.

If only Julius was getting this opportunity to develop.

He reminds me of Kennett Faried.

He's been playing extremely well lately. I therefore expect Byron to drastically reduce his minutes over the next few games accordingly.

Time to sit him down now and let the bench talk to his butt for the advanced Boron course of Old School Basketball.

Maybe he is the best prize from this season. The Lakers produced a backup PF for years to come.

Or a stud 3/4 forward any time he's in the game for years to come. Hit that shot from 2 consistently and if he can hit it deep ......Julius legitimately has competition for minutes. Why him being able to play the 3 would also rock. This guy already has a great NBA body. For all the wrong reasons (seemingly) Boron demoting Randle to 2nd string has supercharged Nance's development toward being that guy.

    Check this out:

    $1,155,600
    $1,207,680
    $1,259,640
    $2,272,391
    $3,369,956

Larry's salary for the next 5 years including this year; I think very highly of Nance, JR. This is a freaking steal...

We have him for 5 years? I thought rookie deals were 3 years. If that's the price we have him at for 5 years, that was a great pick. I guess he's really shown us why he was a 1st round pick and Anthony Brown was the 2nd rounder.

You get 4 years for first rounders plus their qualifying offer for the 5th year. Technically that 5th year number is just his cap hold. If he keeps developing/playing well he'll be worth much more than that in 4 years.

I agree. He can be a perfect role-player for this team. As a SF, mind you.

He turned his ankle, let's but him in the starting line up coming out of half time, he's hobbling? Nah let's leave him in a little longer. Screw you Byron.
We have Randle and Bass ready to take his mins but nah let's not play it safe.

Is it not a coach's job to sit a player for his own good when he's hurt? Nance was clearly hurting, you don't send him out there when we have 3 other PF's. Worst NBA coach I have ever seen.

Nance is 13th in PPG among rookies and 9th in RPG among rookies.

VERY early but I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being the steal of the 2015 draft .

Couple the qualities named in the above tweet and a ( I think) good will to get better .... interesting potential
