Devin Ebanks THANK YOU. I'll say it again, this more than likely goes to the top where the superstars are at. We are shooting ourselves in the foot already. No surprise, this franchise can't seem to get away from hurting themselves ever since the great Dr. left us.

For real though, we're f***ed. No free agent will look at us. Bring a new coach asap, so we can look semi-decent come free agency time. Let him install some kind of an organized ball, anything!

We were 9-21 at this time last season. With a far less talented roster. Let that sink in.

Not only do we have a better roster, we are fully, completely healthy. Not one player on this roster is not available at the moment due to injury. Worst our players have had is a couple tweaked ankles, old man soreness, and the runs. Last season injuries happened daily. Add in the fact that we already played the easy part of our schedule and there is no way we should be this bad, it's inexcusable.

So @BDG has illustrated very clearly that Byron has absolutely no excuses this season. Last year, he could blame it on injuries, less skilled players, whatever. Randle went down for the season in game 1, so we were spared from watching him bench Randle the entire year (which is what he totally would have done, maybe give him 10-15 min playing time). Through fortune or misfortune, Kobe goes down and he is forced to play JC big minutes. JC actually develops, wow what a concept. Eventually, Byron ends up coaching the team so poorly that the Lakers are rewarded with a high draft pick. Then he tries to take credit for all of it like it was some grand master plan.

This year he is completely exposed, there are no more excuses to hide behind. The team is playing the worst basketball in Lakers HISTORY. Yet somehow he's still getting a pass, which means the FO is totally and completely fine with how the team is being coached and performing on the floor. Just ridiculous. I'm beginning to agree with the "clean house from top to bottom" folks. It's time to go scorched earth.

^^I agree with you all the way lakersyunowin. The message the FO is sending is that they are fine with this horror show we are seeing. And if they are, screw them. Screw them either way because its their fault we are in this mess.

I now hate Byron. Sad to say because as a teen he was a guy I looked up to for his toughness, and the way he maximized his talent. Now I can't stand the stupid things he says, his godawful lineups, the way he punishes Russell and Randle just for being young. I want the guy gone tomorrow.

His coaching got me thinking... im pretty sure it was ALL Magic that made him look good. Dude was tough (still is) but he was a scrub (and still is). Makes me sad to think he was a part of Showtime :(.

Cmon now Byron was no scrub as a player. As a coach he's freaking terrible, but he was a stout role player just like Horry and Fisher but to me at a much higher level. Lakers probably would've won one more title if he had been healthy against Chicago in the 91 Finals. Worthy was hurt as well.

Sure same with Fisher and Horry. I doubt anyone would have remembered them either if it weren't for Kobe, Shaq, and Pau.

Listened to a Summer League interview with Madsen

So not head coach material in my opinion (At least at this stage of his career, and on this level), but probably an ideal assistant coach.
