Great form from the outside. Keep this up and we're in business.

I thought this was one of his best games in a while. Much better screens, better shots even if his actual shooting form is questionable, defensively he made some good decisions.

This kid can still be a star but it's going to take a coach that tries to put him in situations to succeed instead of just isolations.

Agreed. It would be nice to even see them set him up once in awhile in those ISO situations closer to the basket. Too often he's getting the ball 3 feet behind the arc and being asked to create for himself.

I'd prefer getting him in a situation where he's moving towards the basket. Pick and rolls instead of pick and pops. Motions that go towards the rim instead of around the perimeter. Instead like you said he's isolated in No Man's Land where he's not at the right angle to really bank a shot, he doesn't have a ton of room baseline (which is usually his strong hand)... It's just awful and yet he's still mostly effective.

There's absolutely no reason we shouldn't be running the Nash/Amare PnR to death with Russell/Randle.

    Or a little Stockton-to-Malone:

I'm impressed that he's been able to start to adjust his jumper that quick. He had more arc on that shot last night than I've ever seen from him, as well as his mentioned much improved free throw shooting. If he really works on and fixes that jumper, he'll be pretty much unstoppable on offense. Defensive awareness and help still needs work though.

still hate his form, but the results were good. I suppose it worked for luis scola.

I liked him blitzing lillard on the high screens. you can't do this all the time, but selective employment of his quickness in this way is a weapon for the lakers' team defense, particularly against scoring guards.

Yeah, we need a system that encourages them to develop a two-man game. Because I think part of the problem is that Randle instinctively wants to play iso ball and bully his guy one-on-one. I do think that should eventually be the cornerstone of his game, especially when his jumper improves to free up his face-up attack game even more. But he's so physically gifted that he can be pretty deadly if he works on his off-ball offense and can get 3-5 easy buckets on pick and roll set ups from Russell.

I think it will come, but it's definitely not helping us that Scott encourages iso ball AND has Russell on a leash where half the time he's relegated to dribbling up court and passing it to whoevers turn it is to iso...

8 of 13 for 16 points, 6 boards, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block - all in just under 30 minutes? Very good game by Randle. Nice to see that outside shot falling, too. Not always pretty but still worked.

Great game from Randle, theres still some work to be done of course but you can tell he's putting in work. Its refreshing to see him and Russell grow together instead of one and then the other.

man, his finishing is just rough right now. you can see how frustrated he is with his own right hand. still good action on the boards, though.

one thing i will nitpick: sometimes when he makes a nice kick out to an open shooter, he starts running back on d in a sort of celebratory fashion. now maybe the coaches are telling him that he needs to get back on jumpshots, but i'd think you'd want him crashing the boards. the lakers' shooters aren't exactly marksmen.

Still some rawness to his game but I let's be aware this is his first full season so far. Randle is adjusting and growing. If Nowitzki can praise him for his potential and Garnett can't intimidate him, he'll be just fine.

Yea we can just pencil him in as a double-double per night guy in the future. Aside from Wiggins, the 5 teams in front of us have to be kicking themselves right now. .
