I dunno, it could just be a "hang in til next season guys, we're tanking for now. we'll have a different coach and system next year."

I guess the message to top free agents now at least can be for sure "this can be your franchise now that Kobe is retired", but the coaching situation needs to be fixed big time. Nobody is going to come play for B0ron.

If he doesn't get fired after this? The tank will be confirmed and it will be a year of s***. I think I might be done watching this team. They haven't given me anything to hold onto for hope.

Gots to go situation. The minute he is no longer around influencing our players is the moment we begin to heal. Worst coach I have ever seen in my NBA watching life. That the FO is standing behind him and allowing this absolutely disgusts me. At a certain point they are just as guilty as him if they don't step in and stop this. The man literally lets Kobe do whatever he want. Kobe is chucking his heart out, what kind of message is that for our youth?

Have the Lakers ever hired good coaches with the exception of Sharman, Riley and Phil?

I think Harris was fine. I think Dunleavy was fine too first time around, at least from how my father told it. Rudy T was also on pace for the playoffs before he resigned and Kobe got hurt. We don't need a home run, I'd settle for competent, not a buffoon.

Harris was fine for the roster we had. Dunleavy had his moments, took us to the finals that first year. Compared to Byron, both of those guys are geniuses. But yea our coaching hires in RECENT history post-Phil have been disasters.

Byron able to laugh in his postgame interview right now. F*** you clown.

I didn't think we could get worse than Brown or D'Antoni...

with a roster as young as la's, I favor an unproven coach. I honestly think kobe's the only thing keeping Byron in a job right now. if kobe gets hurt, I think Byron is fired shortly thereafter. no joke.

I'm not sure this is any worse than brown, but both he and dantoni were painful because of the other available options at the time. dantoni was mostly awful because the lakers should have known they had the wrong personnel and that he was not a flexible coach. I actually don't fault lakers management for any decision they've made in the past several years save the coaching hires. you've got to do better than this.

and people act like it doesn't matter, but great coaches are worth as much as great players, imo. SA's contention could easily be over already if not for pop. and the post-title mavs have been a talent wasteland that still competes and makes the playoffs regularly, which is why Carlisle is paid more than half their players.

still pissed that Snyder is in Utah right now. that team's not that much more talented than la on paper. moreso, but not as much as the record indicates.

Lakers have historically been bad with coaches.

What the hell does the first tweet even mean?!

Second tweet, then take him out! Tell him to stop, you are the head coach for crying out loud!

I think he means there will be seasons like that where you're just going to live and die with it.
