According to Jerry West, Draymond Green is a top 10 player.

I actually agree with Mr West.

I thought he deserved DPOY last year and will probably win it this year (it's early, but GS will probably win most awards). He's also a very good shooter, passer and rebounder.

Currently averaging 12.8 ppg on 50% shooting, 7.9 rebounds and 6.8 assists. Also shooting 45% on 3 pt shots.

    Thoughts?

Jerry West. Wow Phil love him but hate him for his ego and making it clear to West that he no longer wanted to be in that front office. On the Buss family too, including Jerry. Terrible that the organization didn't lock this guy up forever. I don't think they realized how brilliant the guy actually was and took him for granted to some degree.

I don't know that he's top 10 overall. But he sure does a lot of things well and is invaluable to that Warrior team. Like...he's never gonna be the guy you build a team around. To me, he's a top 10 valuable piece kinda player if that makes any sense.

I get what you're saying. But I don't think their are 10 of those guys in the league (although a few rookies would be great to build around, I can't say any are better than Draymond right now). I'd say about 7 or 8 are better than Draymond. But to your point, I wouldn't want to build around Draymond either.

And they have 2 of these kind of players - Iggy and him.

Barring injuries, they are going to dominate for a long time.

    Top 10 overall player? No

Top 10 impact player? Arguably yes. He's got that Kawhi Impact where he just does some of everything really well.

Yup. That's what I think LakersYUNoWin was saying. No way I'd want Draymond as my best player or the guy I need a big shot or to average 20 a game. But his impact is top 10. Elite defense and a lot of little things on offense.

I would agree. He was hovering around there last year as well in terms of impact.

Harden, Wall, Curry, Davis, LeBron, Cousins, Griffin, Bosh, Leonard, Butler, Aldridge, Love...

But yeah I love his game and I love his impact. He's probably the second best player on his team.

    Guarding 1 through 5 : check
    Rebounding :check
    Pushing the ball : check
    Passing : check
    Shoot 3s : check

There isn't another player in the league who is actually doing theses things at a good level as he does it

Nooo...i will agree that he is great and very underrated player...but to be top 10 that means that you are franchise player, and no way he could take any team to the playoffs as the go to guy...
But his impact reminds me of odom, glue guy that is versatile and makes team better, but if he was needed to br leader he would probably become casper too.
Underrated player, and no way gs would won anything whitout him but he aint in the top 10.

He reminds me a lot of Odom, he's constantly their X factor every game. Top 10? Maybe not but what he brings to that team is top something aright. He could guard 1-5, gives them a hell of an effective small ball line up, rebound and push, that two man game with Curry is deadly, etc etc.

Man, just hearing some of these names gives me a warm nostalgic feeling. Our top 4 players on the latest championship team could be considered top ten players in this league.

I thought last year when Kerr said he was the heart and soul of the team was perfectly said. He brings so much to the game and is really the shining example of why you can never rely just on stats for how good a player truly is. He's a coaches dream but he does all the little things, plays unselfishly, and above all else has been a winner his entire life going back to HS.

Every day I listen to the Dan Patrick Show and he was on last week and I loved what he said about Julius Randle. He loved it that Randle was going right at him and talking a little trash about not being able to guard him. Draymond said he would rather have someone with that "dog" like attitude and will then someone just showing respect to veterans. My point in bringing this up is that Draymond is a competitor first and foremost and will do whatever is necessary and I just loved seeing that out of a young player.

Probably one of the top, two-way intangibles players in the league.

The hustle, the constant motor, the activity with the types of skills he brings.

    Very solid player.

    Top 10:

    1. Curry
    2. LeBron
    3. Paul George
    4. Kawhi
    5. Westbrook
    6. KD
    7. AD
    8. Cousins
    9. Harden
    10. BG

10th spot is up for grabs between a bunch of players though.....BG, Cp3, Wall, Lillard, Butler....

Draymond though? He is top 10 impact but not a guy you build around so can't put him in the top 10.

Also, KD and AD should vault back into top 5 by year's end but I couldn't put them there right now

I agree with you guys he's not someone you build around. I'd hate it if he was a max player on the Lakers or our best player. But impact-wise, I still have him in the top 10.

    I
Cousins has done absolutely nothing to be a top 10 player in this league .

You get caught in the numbers .

As for Draymond , we're talking impact and not talent .

A team is all about "fits" , not pure talent ... He's the perfect 3rd guy for a contender
