You would think with the coach as a former shooting guard, he would know how to get his best player involved a little more
He does get his best player involved, because in his mind his best players are Kobe and Lou. :Headpoint:
Jordan is sporting a nice and growing and fun to watch repertoire of finishing shots near the basket. So much improvement in all his abilities in such a short period of time!
Everyone not named Jordan Clarkson shot horrendously. DLo mainly because he sprained his ankle, though.
Clarkson is their best player ...period.He's their most tradable asset.Don't do something stupid Mitch and Jim...
Hell no. Jordan is a star in the making and he doesn't curse out his coach or throw elbows and get suspended.
A few more weeks of Byron's ridiculous act and beating up the young guys while the vets chuck and are not held accountable, and he may curse him out and throw elbows at him.
Looks like he's ready to reach the next level offensively ... His improvement from downtown is great news
I doubt it and even so there's no excuse to go off like that. You're a professional basketball player speaking of Cousins. Act like it. Grow up and handle yourself better. You can't just curse your coaches out every time things don't go well. That's not good leadership.
Agreed, my point was he is tradable even with that rookie deal by pairing him with Hibbert, and as I said, don't do anything stupid...
Is he a star in the making though? I'd say his floor is NBA starter. Star? He does a lot of things pretty well, but he's not elite at anything. I feel like to be a star you need to do 1-2 things at an elite level. He's not there IMO. I'm a huge huge JC guy too.
Agreed. I do not see a star. I see one of those consistently very good starters that people always "overlook" as they go out there and play well on a nightly basis.
Why can't he be? He may not be elite at it, but Clarkson is already very good and adept at getting to the basket. His jumper is much improved. Yeah he isn't perfect, but between his progress last year and this season I don't see why he can't continue to progress defensively, continue to add to his offensive game and be a star in the league. Super star maybe not, but a guy who can be an All star at least in my estimation.
People are still seeing him as a second round draft steal. He's already better at scoring than any draft pick last year. If any of the top ten from last year were doing what he is now, they'd be called stars.
I didn't say he couldn't be a star. I just don't think today he has shown the attributes that make me believe he absolutely will be. I think he's excellent at getting to the rim but he isn't elite at it. Eric Bledsoe is near elite at getting to the rim and just this year he's approaching borderline star status. I'd love for Clarkson to be where Bledsoe is at, but there's a lot of differences between their game and body types. The good part? Clarkson is a 2nd year. We didn't see Bledsoe's potential until he went to Phoenix and JC has time to develop. I think if he continues to attack the basket and becomes a 35% 3 point shooter he'll be closer to reaching star-level. That's a long ways away though.
