There's no excuse for that last play, none. Russell can create a better shot for Lou, or Hibbert, or Young, or even himself. But no, we go Lou ISO and it's like Kobe ISO with a shorter player and the same old result, horrible desperation shot.

Lou can do no wrong in Scott's eyes.

Plays Russell but leaves Clarkson on the bench. Sigh.

Byron: "We could very easily have won 3 of 4 games on this road trip with the way we played defensively, but we could very easily be 0-4 with the way we've rebounded the ball, teams are killing us on the offensive glass, and our guys just gotta do a much better job of finishing the play".

    :Kareemlook:

So you think what we have seen is good defense? And you're concerned with offensive rebounding yet continue to play Bass at C. Ok...

If that's good defense then it is confirmed, Byron is delusional.

Good defense? Allowing wide open three after wide open three is good defense? He is more delusional than I thought.

If you were going to let Lou iso and take the shot, why not at least run a PnR as decoy? At the very least Lou might have gotten a bit cleaner look. I just don't get it.

Even though we should fire Byron it's not going to happen. Why? Good luck getting a coach to sign with us when job security here is ZERO.

Think about it. Fire Byron, hire someone and going back to Phil we'll have had 5 coaches in 5 years.

Byron's staying if for only that reason. And Lakers historically have had major coaching issues. Realistically the only solid hires we've had are Pat and Phil. And we absolutely leaned on them.

I don't get Scott's insistence on this. It's like his Kelly/Bass lineup stubbornness. Why Clarkson and Russ can't finish the game together I don't get. I get that Lou is a vet presence, but he takes shots as bad as rookies. I also keep saying this, but I don't see how Lou can keep playing half the third all the way through the 4th. How can stretches that long not catch up with him?

Lou is good and draws fouls like Harden that keep us in the game but he also makes plenty of mistakes and takes bad shots yet he plays so much in the second half. It's like Kobe and Lou have no leash to chuck and do whatever they want out there. If you are going to call an iso play why not JC, he's our best player at getting to the places he wants. I would have been okay with a JC miss or a miss off Russ' play making, not okay with a Lou iso and terrible shot with so much time to work with.

Anyone who didn't see that last play coming is have delusions of adequacy for this team. As soon as I saw there was 1.5 put back on the clock, I knew it was game. Also, Byron is still a f***ing moron, but there's only so many ways we can keep saying that.

After the game, my wife said, "I don't know all about basketball, but it seemed like they gave up a lot of open three pointers." She gets it. Byron doesn't, evidently.

Off topic - walking around tonight thinking about the Lakers because I have no life; I have no basis, evidence, or source to base this on, but I haveba strong hunch Luke is coming next year to replace Byron .

Golden State was obviously a talented team with Mark Jackson...nevertheless, as soon as Kerr took over he installed an offense and a defense that took a team that flamed out in the PO's in the first round to winning a ring in 1 year. I also believe they had one of the highest point differentials they were bearing teams by last year. All this in the Western Conference.

Luke has been exposed to what their doing intimately. It's the direction and style of basketball I see the FO wanting to play and we have some of the pieces. We also have an additional $60 million in cap space next year too add more pieces.

He's young, not a retread, high basketball IQ, cab work well with others, good at managing and rotating players, and his thought if highly by GS management and players.

Luke is our guy. The beauty is coaching experience is getting accelerated right now, and he's the perfect personality to take over this team next year. He's also a Laker, a champion, and known by the fan base. He's it. Make it happen, Mitch.

He is horrible . God awful. Terrible. Even trbl. Why was Bass playing center again? Why did Clarkson get benched? Why couldn't we run a better play at the end of the game?

I watched the last 3 minutes of the game with League Pass ...

I was glad to see DAR on the floor then I quickly looked for JC .... no comment

I believe violence is required with this type of individual
