His rotations in the 4th period last night lost the team, they quit on him. I think his days are numbered, possibly as soon as this road trip ends. I'm going to start researching possible candidates, one I think could help this team for a couple of years teaching and playing a defensive and offensive system that uses their strengths instead of force feeding ones that don't is embattled SMU coach Larry Brown.

What's so puzzling is what is D'Angelo doing so wrong that Byron keeps beating him down like this? Guys are not lighting him up and blowing by him, and D'Angelo doesn't seem to have any idea what it is so he can try to fix it. Great communication Coach. You know the young guys are media savvy and I would imagine Russell is aware that Lakers Nation and writers that cover the team and ESPN and national writers pretty much all think he's getting screwed. I hope it's some solace for him.

Scott Brooks eliminates Durant considering the Lakers.....
Mark Jackson eliminates any star period.....
Thibs eliminates anyone who doesn't want to be run into the ground or have a shortened career.

    What else ya got?

We're the joke of the league and everyone knows it. It's only a matter of time before Byron gets the boot. I'm more confident than ever that he will not last the season. If he's not fired within the next month, I will be shocked.

Time Warner needs to throw their weight around a little on this too. This crap has to affect ratings.....

Then there's the college route if those coaches ever decide to leave their programs:
Coach K, Calipari, Kevin Ollie, and as mentioned before, Larry Brown.

    I'd like Jeff Van Gundy.

Luke isn't going to leave GS mid-season, and neither are just about any others. Coach K, Calipari, not happening. Larry Brown could do it, but not sure that's what he wants any more. We sure could use his ability to teach though. Wow, he'd be good for this team.

Can't comment on the ones I don't know very well, except to say.....They can't be worse than Byron!!!! :p

BG: What’s been the hardest part of taking over as head coach?

LW: “The responsibility. Every final decision has to come from you. You can discuss everything with the staff but that’s a lot of pressure and responsibility. The players trust that you’re doing what’s best for them and that you’re putting them in the position to succeed and win and get better. That’s what we’re trying to do. There’s a lot of decisions to make, that’s a lot of sleepless nights, worrying about what you’re deciding is the right thing to do or not. As an assistant, you don’t have those type of things weighing on your mind.”

BG: What kept you up last night?

LW: “The guys are great. The last thing I’m worried about are the individual players. We have very skilled players, we have players who are winners, we have high character players, we have guys who believe in the team, who are selfless. That’s everything you can ask for from a player.
The things that keep me up at night are… What are we doing at practice the next day? What are our substitution patterns for our next matchup? You feel so much responsibility towards the players because you respect them, you want them to win and you know they’re good enough to win. You want to make sure you’re doing everything you can to make sure they succeed.

BG: The early media consensus is that you guys are better this year than last year. Specifically, where do you see improvements compared to last season?

LW: “I think we’re starting from a spot that’s further along. Last year, when we got here, we had to put in a whole new offense, a new defensive scheme, and then drill the basics of what we want done. We had to spend a lot of time getting to the point where everyone knows that stuff without having to think. That’s a lot of repetition and time to get there.

“Now that we’ve the foundation and the basics down, we’re able to continue to work on the more advanced stuff, offensively and defensively. Bringing most of the entire team back, you get more comfortable with each other on the court. You know where your teammates are going to be, you know what they’re good at, you know their weaknesses. And you continue to grow as long is everyone is here with the right frame of mind and everyone is looking to better. It's a natural growth for a team that's been together longer."

I agree, it is too late to get anyone already coaching as an assistant or head college coach which limits the field....but Larry Brown is in a real mess at SMU and may step down or be forced out....He's certainly not a long term solution and as far as if he'd want to jump into this Laker mess...good question...but he does love teaching young players the game, developing them, oh yeah, and even playing them!

That's why you get rid of Scott, place one of the assistants with the interim tag, and conduct a coaching search next summer

But genius Bryon didn't select any assistants capable of replacing him. :Headpoint:

That's right Byron, you figured out the game. It still won't save you bro. You really are THAT bad.

I'm for trying something new. We know all the coaches mentioned are. Some are good, some are terrible, but they all have there faults.

I think we need to give a new coach a try to go with our new players. The old school approach isn't working.
