His best game yet, look really comfortable out there. He attacked the basket with and without the ball. Still pissed at Byron for pulling him in the 4th, Lou really wasn't a difference down the stretch and Russell could have controlled the flow. And taken the lumps if he failed.

Hopefully he silenced a few of his doubters out there.

    Good shooting game by Russell.

He made some bonehead plays in the 1st half though --- that 3-on-1 fast-break being one of them.

Man when he gets goint, he can really get going. That shot is a splash when it is on. I made a comment in game time that maybe he's finally adjusting to NBA 3 point length, because he buried one from a couple feet behind the line after the one that got a friendly bounce.

3 things he needs to become elite at his first 2 years of development:

    1. Shooting
    2.Mastering the pick in roll
    3. Becoming a plus defender; preferably a lockdown defender, but I'll settle for the former.

He still should be playing more, i don't buy that "tough love" thing. Clarkson plays great, not because he practicly "missed" the first 41 games of last season but because he's a realy talented guy, who works hard. System where DAR finishes the game with 0 assists is just BAD.

Russell had a great game. Really stepped up offensively and helped us get that lead going into the half.

The tough love is garbage and just Byron being stubborn.

Imagine what his stat line would have been if he got the luxury of playing 35 minutes a night like Jah does? This could of been a huge breakout game for him, but no Byron had to send him back to the bench for doing everything right. Damn shame. Play bad get benched, play good get benched.

I guess that's what happens when you are in Mike Brown mode and have to get a victory you yank the young guy and put in the vet even though we were winning.

    For the sake of comparison:
Jahlil is getting 20.6 points, 1.0 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per 36. Plus .4 steals and .8 blocks. 3.1 TOs, 3.5 PFs.

Russell is getting 15.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per 36. Plus 1.2 steals and .3 blocks. 2.1 TO and 2.4 PFs.

Okafor has been better, but it's not a landslide.

Cool stat: 8 of Russell's 11 assists have been of the three-point variety.

I was at the game, crazy amount of Laker fans there. I could not understand why Russell was not in more after he started getting hot with his shot. He looked like he was getting really comfortable, should've rode it out.

Finally showed me something last night. Much needed. Good for the confidence. Even though the Nets are trash, they have smart seasoned vets at point, so this wasn't against scrubs.
