The weird thing is that he looked phenomenal the game before coming off the bench. Not that he looked bad last night - I thought he was fine although neither the shooters nor he were in quite the same brilliant rhythm as the game before. Also while Bass played well he didn't do those same dive cuts that Black did.

All of it is a work in progress. I've been impressed with Russell thus far. Very impressed. Both with the starters and with the bench. If anything I feel like he's ahead of the curve. Can't wait to see what he can do when he's even more comfortable out there.

I'm okay with the hair, but if he starts talking about practice, we've got problems.

I actually was OK with his new look with the hair and headband because he seemed to be SWOL with confidence to play against Curry and the world Champs last night. All 3 of the young guns have that swagger. :Jacksnicker:

I've actually been surprised with his defense. His size and length can be disruptive and of course knowing Roy is back there allows him to be a little more aggressive.

He moves his feet pretty well. As well. The guy oozes the IT factor. He's already on that same type of steep upward progression performance curve that Bynum got into a few times until they were ended by injury. The more minutes ..... the better he gets.

While i do think he is ready to start, i don't know if declaring him the king of LA is a good idea. Kobe had to fight for his position, Clarkson fighting doubters, Randle had a wake up call with the injury. And i didn't like his critisicm coming off the bench. He talks all grown up but he is still a kid. To get all that hype and shoe brand is too much at such a young age (and he is not Lebron).
I'm happy with marcello being great at the things Russel supposed to be good at. That will drive him to be better.

Who in the audience did not yell out when Russell took the ball away from his opponent on the side line their front court, and take it up the court with that pissed off guy all over him, holding him off (more subtly than Jordan's football arm :D )..... and then :Kaream Surprise: the behind the back move at the end to lay it up over the rim. Quickness, physicality, skill and coordination all on display.

Would have actually liked if he'd tossed it to Randle running behind for the dunk, but it all worked out quite nicely. As he gets older and stronger and more experienced he'll be able to see that trailer.

I thought he had a bit of a break out in the fourth quarter on the offensive end. Nice to see.

Still finding his role... passer or shooter? Hopefully he can be both.
