He has potential. I think his stats will go up this year, but I think his percentages will go down as he transitions to more spot-up shooting, moving more without the ball, and getting used to playing w/Russell. I still think he's going to be fantastic this year, and we'll lock him up next year to a multi-year deal.
I like it @Juronimo. I won't go that far - yet. But I think he's an NBA starter. That's amazing for us. We have a guy that, I believe, is at least good enough to be a starter in the league for the next number of years. His work ethic is definitely superstar-esque it seems, and his athleticism and body sure as hell doesn't count him out of that running. I think the difference at this point is his talent....work ethic and athleticism get you so far - what makes him a superstar (or not) is his mind and innate talent. Some of that can be taught, a la the Kobe Bryant program, and some of it is just innate, a la Kobe Bryant.
All I know is that Kobe can average his best assists season of his career with this roster. They just have to prove to him he can count on them.
According to his KY teammates Julius is a big "clutch" guy ..... not afraid of the pressure. Russell? What him worry? He'll figure it out. Clarkson hopefully has long distance clutch or big play clutch in him at some point. Williams has certainly been there. Swaggy too when he's healthy and feeling it and has Kobe in his ear. Panda (would add so much fun to fans to have him here this year if in tip top shape for his age) ...... always has his psychologist to thank when Kobe finds him late.
See ...... even Jordan got in trouble being up in Bob's room in Las Vegas. Must have been bad because it says they are dropping him. ? ? Guy is ready to blow up big time this year on the L.A. Lakers and they are dropping him? Report: Agency severs ties with Lakers' Clarkson POSTED: Sep 2, 2015 11:34 AM ET By Jon Krawczynski Associated Press (AP) — A person with knowledge of situation tells The Associated Press that Excel Sports Management has severed ties with Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side has released details of the split, which happened last month. The Lakers picked Clarkson in the second round of the draft in 2014. He averaged 11.9 points and 3.5 assists in his rookie season and was named to the All-Rookie First Team. Excel Sports Management represents some of the biggest names in the NBA, including Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love and Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul Pierce.
You think he's letting it spin this way though, that they are dropping him? Not getting this, with first knee jerk reaction.
Why isn't Tyler on this with his inside contacts? We need more than just another "pretty face" (no idea ) blogging about the Lakers. We need some hard core reporting going forward. Channel the Big Nasty, email Woj or something ..... find out how he gets to be respected as "the guy" with the scoops most of the time. In real .....errrr.....Tyler's spare time of course.
With his second NBA season fast approaching, Jordan Clarkson has been mulling over an opportunity to play for the Philippines National Team – Clarkson's mother is half-Filipino – in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship that begins later in September. However, the tournament extends into the start of Lakers' training camp, which all NBA players under contract are required to attend. Lakers spokesman John Black told us that the NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement gives players the right participate in international play if there is no injury issue. In theory, Clarkson could join the Philippines squad and play in its early-round games (Sept. 23 vs. Palestine, Sept. 24 vs. Hong Kong and Sept. 25 vs. Kuwait), but the Lakers fly to Hawaii to commence training camp just three days later. As such, Clarkson would not be able to participate in FIBA Asia’s knockout round, which begins Oct. 1. Clarkson will likely be in communication with Lakers management before coming to a decision about whether he’ll play, or whether it’s too difficult considering the proximity to the start of camp. It’s been quite a year for Clarkson, who went from being the No. 46 pick in the 2014 Draft to excelling late in his rookie season — enough to earn All-Rookie First Team honors. He averaged 16.7 points, 5.4 assists, 4.6 boards and 1.0 steals, while shooting 47.9 percent from the field after the All-Star Break. Expect coach Byron Scott to extend significant minutes Clarkson’s way, whether he’s starting next to rookie D’Angelo Russell with Kobe Bryant at small forward; starting at the point with Russell on the pine to begin; or coming off the bench in a Russell-Bryant backcourt. Either way, he’ll spend a lot of time on the court looking to back up a stellar final four months of his rookie year. http://www.nba.com/lakers/news/150903_clarksonphilippines?cid=tw
What the article failed to mention is Clarkson is dating Victoria Secret Supermodel Chanel Iman. See, this is just one image of them being together; what I would suggest is the Lakers build a collage of images of Chanel and Clarkson together and include them in pitches to potential free agents and say, 'this is what happens when you reach even a modicum of success...you can pull a supermodel.' Not bad for a 2nd round pick, huh? Instead, we show Byron and Worthy highlights in the first meeting we had w/Aldridge. You go Clarkson!!!
Then show them images of Clippers being booed in Dodger Stadium in contrast. In case their parents haven't done their correct upbringing as mentioned by Pau.
^^^ Back on the sand dune. From the first few sand dune shots awhile back, I originally thought it might be White Sands up a couple miles north of Zuma Beach on the land side of PC Hwy, but looking at that picture now it seems like it is somewhere else? Anyone have an idea?
JC actually took a picture of where this was before doing the workout with Tim. I too was wondering where this was at:
