Russell will definitely struggle... That is a given. He will not hit his stride until a third of the season has passed. Maybe even after February at the latest. The 1 spot is a tough position but in lieu of 24's habit of dominating the ball and the offense running through him, it could be a blessing somewhat. That and Clarkson can spell him a bit having experience playing the point. One thing though is that he has to assert himself.

He shouldn't have been tweeting to begin with; he should have been in the gym!

No he's anti-Russell. He should have said Russell is the best rookie and everyone else stinks and he's going to win ROY and be dominant on day one!

first few months? he's a rook..we honestly have to give these kids a couple of years of patience and a pass until we see what we really have

heck, we gave Wes Johnson what? 7 years before we tatted 'bust' on his profile

i'm hoping the best for Russell...he should just keep his opinions to himself until his first triple double

Can't even joke about Russell around these parts....Jeez. Lol.

For what its worth, I do think Russell will have adjust and start putting it all together toward the middle of the season. Honestly, I'm a lot more worried about the offense we are running and how we are planning to use all the power forwards we have than I am about Russell at this point.

In all seriousness, you're right about the expectations on Russell will be very high and if he doesn't produces as hyped...there will be gnashing of teeth. I think he will be alright as soon as he adjusts to the speed of the game and how much better the competition is. I believe he and Clarkson are an ill fit for the Princeton.

I will be patient though...not expecting much from him early on. He's 19 years old and still developing. The innate instincts are there however with his passing and court vision so there's promise. Opposing point guards will test him and he will have to give them the business back.

He'll hit his stride his third year. Pretty sure everyone needs to calm down about this 19 yr old savant. Hopefully he plays less than 30 minutes a game and learns fast. Anything beyond that is an unexpected bonus.

Oh that's entirely too long, I haven't got that much patience. Come on Jerry West said he was the best player in the draft. Can't we speed it up to Feb or March next year? That would be much better I think. Yeah let's do that. [IMG]

What a terrible teammate. No wonder no one wants to play with him.

Kid is silly and has no filter. :D

That's why some of us are saying he needs time to mature and marinate in this league. I don't think he's ever HAD to have a filter... Guess what young'n! You're on a national pedestal like you've never imagined. EVERYTHING you say is going to be dissected FOREVER.

Typical 90s baby. Watches a few youtube clips of tracy and calls him the goat. Am i the only
won who thinks that Russell was never very excited to play with Kobe? Remember, most of these
really young kids don't like Kobe. The first thing Russell said when asked about kobe (on draft night)
was something like this "We'll have to see how much kobe has left in the tank".. Me personally,
I would say that im honored to be around a living legend and hope that I can be a fraction of what he
    has become. just sayin
