It's not just about Tristan though. Tristan is on LeBron's agency and while it sounds crazy for LeBron to leave, that's a bullet he's got in his chamber if they want to use it. Say they force Tristan to sign the QO and then the Cavs struggle this year... LeBron could walk to any number of teams. Sure he'd be a villain but he can use the excuse: "management wasn't willing to do what they needed to to win" or something. It's incredibly unlikely, but something I'm almost positive is going on behind the scenes over there.
I'd love to watch another episode of Lebron leaving Cleveland without giving them a championship. As for TT, he's a good rebounder and clean up guy but the only reason he's even in talks for a huge pay day is because his agent is also Lebron's. The comparisons to Rodman during the Finals were so obnoxious.
undersized but desperately needed = overpaid I wouldn't pay him big bucks this year with their tax bill. He's not a huge building block cornerstone type of player IMHO. He's replaceable for less than max money. Max Money guys show up ALL YEAR LONG, not just in one or two series.
Lebron is running that franchise right now, he's making sure everyone gets paid. They must have the highest salary bill for next season.
I should have known not to trust Broussard's sauces. Eh, either way, it's going to get done, and he's going to make a lot of money, whether it's 1 year or 5, LeBron will make it so. So let it be written, so let it be done.
74 million in tax debt on 112 million in salary That's not smart business. The CBA exists to keep owners like Gilbert from killing themselves with stupid decisions.
Nothing too good for the King when he is in runner up now mode like last year. I doubt Lebron could walk away from Cleveland twice, he is obviously not without help (or as he calls them subjects). Cleveland would end up trying to burn a Lebron jersey with Lebron in it. Thompson looked good at times with his rebounding, but he is like the non-jump shooting Jordan Hill on a good day, not prime KG or Rodman or etc. This is all about Lebron's power. This is bordering on JR Smith's brother bad, when you factor in the contract size.
