Pretty neat way to look at draft ranges. So if I'm reading that right potential first round fallers could be Swain, Cenac or Steinbach. I think we could use all three, if that ends up being the case. Interestingly, Richmond seems has a narrower range right about where we'll pick. I'd hate to see him go to San Antonio! And Thomas is right behind him there in the list.
I'd gladly pick up Lendeborg if he drops but I think he'll go lottery along with Mara and Morez Johnson. I see a lot of john collins when I watch Lendeborg play, definitely can play up and down a position.
I’d actually be disappointed if they drafted someone because it would probably mean they couldn’t improve through a trade
i think this year's draft is still deep enough that i'd be happy making the pick. each of the last times we had 1sts, i wanted to trade them (and i think so did the FO). the other issue is that it's possible certain dominos won't have fallen on draft day. like--are we operating over or under the cap? does the draft impact that or (more likely) vice versa? what do we need to know prior to that?
LA Lakers (2026 picks: 25th) #31 Zuby Ejiofor (PF, St. John's, 22-37) #32 Alex Karaban (SF, UConn, 23-197) #37 Baba Miller (PF, Cincinnati, 22-110) #66 Jaden Henley (SF, Grand Canyon, 22-33) #67 Rafael Castro (C, George Washington, 22-363) UNR Duke Brennan (C, Villanova, 23-51) UNR Keba Keita (C, BYU, 22-281) UNR Malachi Moreno (C, Kentucky, 19-215) UNR Marquel Sutton (PF, LSU, 23-136) UNR Mohamed Wague (C, Oklahoma, 26-162 Player’s they have worked out.looks like second rounders and undrafted guys
Thanks for posting the list. I had a look and Moreno went back to Kentucky and Richmond went back to Arkansas (I really wanted him, but he'll be a first rounder next year). I've heard a few good things about Castro but I think he'll go undrafted, Baba Miller played well in the scrimmages and has a lot of skill and good athleticism for a 6'11" guy. He'd be a nice gamble in the 2nd rd though I think he's a bit of a project especially on the defensive side. I'm all for trading the #25 for upgrades elsewhere. If we keep it I think Ejiofor is the guy to take. He's 6'8" long wingspan, quick reaction time, 70% ft, excellent offensive rebounder, can help weak side rim protection and can hit the spot up three. Unless Swain or Cenac fall to us, I could see Ejiofor stepping in when Lebron and/or Rui inevitably miss time. Hustle plays, offensive rebounding, defense, the occasional three, he'd be a fan favorite for sure.
oh man, richmond and moreno both went back? these were two of my top picks for that spot. freaking NIL took what was a deep draft and made it pretty bad for us. even s***tier that it does nothing for the stability of college ball, as like half the guys who stay switch teams (saw yessoufo withdrew and transferred, too). amari allen withdrew as well. this basically leaves veesaar, jefferson, and ejiofor as guys i've thought about that might slip to 25. this list was probably 15 names long a few weeks ago, lol. starting to get some jhs fears. anyone drafting in the second round has to be super bummed, as there will be very little even in the 30s.
