I just checked... so Luke Kennard was upset that his 3 point shot hasn't been falling the past six games before the game-winner. Those six games, he shot 21% from three on 3/14 shooting. That's called a bad shooting game for Luka and no one would bat an eye.

If Kennard hit just 4 more threes, that's 50% from 3. This is not a Jake LaRavia situation where he's been struggling for months.

Point is, IDK why he was hard on himself. He just needs to be shooting more. Some shots just miss... nothing you can do. But 3/14 in 6 games is such a small sample size.

He needs to be on that prime Buddy Hield/Duncan Robinson level of shooting attempts.

It's not going to happen. Literally every team that has ever had Kennard has said this, and it never happens.

Ugh giving up the ball for Vando to take the 3 instead of Kennard shooting the 3 or driving was the one that sticks otu the most

Good game, right? Just don't use him as your primary ballhandler.

Great game. And he can handle the ball some as he pushes that sometimes, not always successfully, but l like that aggressiveness and it allows him to create his scoring from more than just catch and shoot. Heady player.

Sigh. Some poor man Luka performance… shooting abandoned him with all the other responsibilities

I think he deserves a lifetime contract.

Shooter (they can exist in the purple and gold!) who can hit a floater, drive, pass and handle as a secondary playmaker, and is just a smart player.

With his new role, his shot left him when he had to go out there and be Ben Wallace and Luka for the team at the same time.

He also can be targeted in a series, but that's when you need to protect him with a versatile switchy lineup (next year).

    Really good move by Rob

Huge addition and along with his shooting the positive attitude goes a long ways

i really like him. i worry a bit that it's just a gabe juxtaposition effect in part, but he's a pretty complete offensive player. his defense is basically as troublesome as advertised, and he's probably best suited as a 15-20mpg 9th man type, but hopefully that keeps his cost to where he won't be poached.

anyway, our current problem is we have lots of guys i like as end-of-rotation players and almost nobody that i like as starting caliber players after our allstars. the very best teams have 2-4 of these types, imo. if you have those, sprinkling a kennard on top is awesome. if you don't, it loses some value.

Agreed on all points. Good player with defensive limitations, but definitely a part of our core rotation. Get another Marcus Smart, basically, and a better LaRavia (instead of, say, Rui), and suddenly Kennard shines on that team.
