i still remember how ibaka tried going at it with artest after he elbowed harden a few years ago really wish that would have happened. artest would have killed ibaka
I mean has ANYONE in the NBA since Shaq retired actually fought? There's just not that many fights anymore, too much money at stake after what happened to Ron. I don't think Barnes would necessarily hesitate though if he had to do it. I think there's plenty of tough guys still left in the NBA, they're just smarter than to actually throw punches. Andre Miller, Steve Blake, Matt Barnes, and David West all come to mind immediately as guys that I think wouldn't hesitate to have their dude's back if need be. I'm not saying Barnes is Artest or anything (the last crazy dude I think), but I don't think he's fake either. Agree to disagree I suppose.
SI ran a story about Barnes and there was an account of how he had to be restrained from going after Maurice Cheeks.
I agree. Barnes has played in the NBA for 12 years. Next season with the Grizzlies will be his 13th season. For a player who was practically undrafted, that's a very long time. He's not a "fake" tough guy.
