Too much leash. JJ needs to pull it sooner. We also need to do JJ a favor by shopping Vincent's a** this trade deadline & save JJ from himself.

Damn Gabe is out again from too much cardio. What a waste of money this guy has been so far.

I'd love to move Gabe at the deadline or before. He truly underachieved here. Never very good and always injured. Bad combo.

He's back and all I could think of was can we trade him already so JJ can stop playing him

though neither has been great, in comparable (small) sample sizes nick smith has been substantially better than gabe this year, intangibles be damned.

he's not making an impact on either end. it's not like he can guard the quick perimeter players, so he's not filling a need for us.

we need to get him away from jj. i feel like this is likely. if nothing else at the deadline, we might just shuffle deck chairs (move expirings for other expirings).

    Thybulle, Kennard, JC.

All make right around there. Preference would be Thybulle cause we need defense. Kennard might be on the outside looking in since they just got Crispy and that also means we never see DK play another minute... double win. JC could give the bench a boost and help if we want some secondary ball handling off the bench.

That's far from my preferenced deadline, but if we're just swapping his expiring for another. Those are good options.

    who's jc? jevon carter?

thybulle would be my guy. portland would want to extract more.

gabe/knecht for thybulle/wesley works and makes portland look like they got one over on us. gives us wiggle room for that last roster spot, too.

It really has turned into a Hambone/Prince love affair at this point. I would be a bit frustrated if I were Nick Smith. Stay professional and ready, kid!

Maybe that’s why Nick conspicuously left Gabe’s high five hanging exactly the same way in the same situation in the same spot on the court in 2 consecutive games against the Grizz last week?

Please for the love of God get a competent PG to replace Gabe - make this season watchable at least.

Just can't stand him scared to drive, unable to rebound, players tipping passes and boards away from him. Make it stop I do enough cardio by myself!

Please get him off my team. I don’t even care if he’s making threes or he isn’t, he does NOTHING else. He just runs around and is small.

Gabe gets so much rope while others are yanked or flat out benched like Vando.

    I just don’t see it.

ok, this sounds dumb, but...i think gabe is cool. i'm only half-joking. like when guys talk about him, they do so with the sort of reverence that you hear about the coolest guy in your friend group (i'm speaking of my youth--nobody within 50 yards of me is cool anymore, self included, of course). in short, people like him.

secondly, i do think that he doesn't screw up. you can tell jj gets REALLY upset with guys who don't follow the plan, and i think that's one thing gabe does. coaches can forgive missing shots, but not missing assignments. in this way, i get it--especially in the modern nba if you have one guy zagging on either end, you're dead. it's why knecht is nearly unplayable despite incredible talent and why jj just can't quit gabe.

only way is to trade him, but unless you attach picks, you're not getting an upgrade, so why bother? especially when the picks we have really aren't enough for the multiple upgrades we need.

No. I don’t think this is dumb at all and have thought similar. You can tell the team likes him and he seems like an overall good dude.

yeah, and to add to it, it explains why jj wants ten more gabes. i think all coaches think if they have ten guys who are all on the same script and are easy to get along with, hard workers, etc., that you can win and enjoy doing it.

and this is true...for the princeton men's basketball team in ivy league conference play.

from a different thread, but this should be the concern about the kuminga interest. i get the sense he's the anti-gabe. problem is that in the nba, sometimes the talent wins, right way be damned.
