I don’t agree, I think LeBron can play for 5 more years if he plays 60 games a year, but plays one or two games a week only. As you get older, getting into professional sport shape isn’t guaranteed any longer, staying in pro shape is much easier and safer for injuries.

But one day you can’t get back into shape. It’s injury after injury instead as you ramp up. The same thing also happens when you’ve had one too many serious injuries - I’ve been on the side of that train, ankle break and then three knee operations into a hip operation and a back operation. Everytime you come back you lose a few percentage points of your max, until one day you can’t even get into top shape.

it was semi-encouraging to hear that lebron has come back and played after the sciatica once already--they must have kept that quiet. that timing kind of lines up retrospectively with when i thought he got a little more stiff in his movements, which i can understand based on my own sciatica experience. the kinds of bending and lunging that you do naturally on a basketball court start to kind of signal themselves unconsciously, and you just stop doing it. feel like it impacted me more on defense, when i have to do more reacting.

i'm actually not super worried about lebron offensively. he knows his role has changed, and i think he'll find ways to be impactful in the new role. defense is the question--can the hoop iq and strength keep him as a plus-defender as the mobility keeps ratcheting down? we'll see soon enough.

I have LBJ fatigue. I'm kind of tired of having conversation of how we can implment a 41 year old who's clearly been breaking down the last 3-4 years.

Just hope we can make the best of it this year & he's gone next summer.

    Yeah. I totally get this.

I think the worries about him are everyone just waiting for something to go wrong though. There may be some hiccups along the way but I really do think we will be able to integrate him pretty easily. I’m also optimistic that having to carry the load less on offense will give him more energy on the defensive end. He’s going to be limited by age but if we manage his minutes I see no real reason he won’t be a positive for us when he returns.

I’ve always felt like LeBron had some front runner in him. He can come in and ride the wave. I honestly don’t think he will let himself be the reason things go off track.

The dude was All NBA last season. They don't hand out that award for participation. Old Lebron today, is still a better player, than most of the guys currently in the NBA, will ever be.

And went out with a sprained MCL.

Maybe we get lucky and he makes it to May without a significant injury, but we'll see.

Personally I’m ready to move on from LeBron next season. I’d love to see him end with a bang here and get his 5th ring with Luka. But that’s a tough hill to climb with OKC and Denver in our way. We’ll see. But this should be the last season. We can’t be paying $50 million to a guy in his 40s any longer. We’ll need some of that to retain the young guys we have: AR, Rui and DA. It’ll be Luka’s team next year and I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far with the LeBron-less Lakers.

I'll worry about the aftermath, of this Championship rampage run, after it comes Jones! I don't fear Denver or OKC at all, with a full squad.
I watched that Bulls/Nuggets game last night. Denver isn't this juggernaut folks are proclaiming them to be ....IMO

FWIW, I am not really picking on you as much as I am just talking about the situation. I am directing my comments to all the haters, not you in particular. Honestly, I have not paid much attention to who has said what around here. I have not viewed you as someone who infamously denigrates Lebron or anyone else. LOL, maybe I am wrong, but it hadn't occurred to me up to now.

Thank you...lol. I am not a hater of anyone. I work 8-10 days with Alaska Natives to overcome the trauma of colonization, addiction, sexual assault, suicide and a variety of other things. I used to come to LB as a place of refuge. Now I go to work to escape LB...lol. Seriously, I do appreciate the kind words.

What an amazing recovery, wow! The Kang as returned!

I hope this doesn't cut into Bronny's time on the court.

I bet you have seen some things!!

I visited Alaska once. A friend of a friend put me up and took me all around. It was amazing, every place we visited completely cleared up, he was completely blown away and said I was the luckiest charm he had ever witnessed. Said he had never witnessed such clear sky's so often. We backpacked somewhere, went combat fishing on the Kenai River. It was awesome.

I see points being made that LeBron breaks down, but I think it’s fair to say that outside of a handful of iron men that don’t play the game explosively - he is kind of above average in health even at his old age.

Jokic and Harden are both more durable but don’t play explosively. Really the only modern day star that plays expansively and is healthier than LeBron is Westbrook. LeBron ranks equal or better than almost everyone else; Steph, KD, Butler, Kawhi, AD, Ja, Tatum, Brown, Murray, PG, Embiid, SGA, Brunson, KAT, Giannis, Lillard, Chris Paul etc.

Actually Anthony Edwards has been pretty durable so far. But he is still really young.

Combat fishing is when many anglers crowd together in a single fishing spot, often a popular river bank, leading to a competitive environment where people must maneuver their lines and rods to avoid getting tangled with others. It is a situation driven by high fish activity and can be a chaotic, shoulder-to-shoulder experience, but it is also sometimes a friendly, communal event
