We need more players attacking the boards for rebounds

Extra chances mean extra points

Such a critical part of the game that some players don't do their best at

 

jj's been saying this since day one, so the fact that we don't do it is pretty problematic.

 

I don’t get it.
His coaches are begging him to rebound and he’s like,”Nah, I’m good with just buckets.”

 

If he isn't going to put in effort to rebound he just needs to come off the bench as a popcorn popper.

 

From what we’ve seen previously, his effort and production wane when coming off the bench. Once LeDrama is ready, then Rui can move down.

 

It's just really odd how he doesn't accidentally get more rebounds. That size and build and at his age, 4 should fall in his lap without trying. Then trying should net him another 3 per game. No reason he shouldn't be getting as many boards as the likes of Miles Bridges, Avdija, and Porter

 

Kind of gave nothing excpet for a few 3's: sighs such an up and down player

He gotta do more man. He's not hungry. He doesn't go after the game. I mean we all played ball, if we want to shoot we will find a way to get that ball

I hope we don't extend him. I want 2 defensive dogs at the wings. He could be a 6th man if he accepted a downgrade to the 14M range. I don't see a team paying him more than the MLE.

You can only have 2 of Luka, AR and Rui. To be closer to optimal. And the choice is easy. A championship contender team with Luka and AR doesn't have Rui in the starting lineup

But for this season we need to maximize him. Luka has to get him more engaged and Rui has to work for his payday. It's gonna be easier without Bron than later

 

I wish he was a better rebounder.

That's the only part of his game that I don't like.

Other than that, he's quite an efficient player.

When he's on, he doesn't seem to be able to miss.

Even when LeBron comes back, we need 15 from Rui nightly - even if he is coming off the bench. He is a really good offensive player and his value is derived from that.

And we need 15 nightly from Ayton too.

 

How did he play 40 minutes and only grab 3 rebounds

 

Great first quarter and a couple big buckets in the 4th, but man... he HAS to do more in the other two quarters while we're down our two best players. It's not like he was going against a competent defense against him either.
